Guiding Light: Beth Ehlers' Exit Storyline?
Daytime Confidential has just received some great scoop on Beth Ehlers'(Harley) possible exit story from Guiding Light. Here is how everything is rumored to go down. Harley smuggles Rafe out of town after she learns some disturbing news about the troubled teenager. Allegedly, Rafe shoots Jeffrey O'Neal and Harley gets him out of town to protect him. The two are on the lam for an unspecified period of time. How Rafe ends up back in Springfield and Harley doesn't, is still up in the air. Oh and all you Jeffrey fans have nothing to worry about, he survives the bullet. Message boards are sure to be a Buzz about this spoiler, as one in particular with a well known insider is already ahead of the game. No it does not but it does mean that one of the worst couples in Daytime will be no more ! I hate them more than Cash I do not see any oozing chemistry coming out of their eye balls. Let Harley go be with Gus and Cyrus can start acting like Cyrus again Marina or No Marina he was a lot different A year ago then he is now. He was witty charming and mysterious.

I don't see anything oozing out their eyeballs either, but they did have a lot of chemistry. And they also had crappy writing and GL squandered all the goodness they had built up for CHarley last fall when they were trying to rescue that whiny little brat.

I've never bee a true/blue fan of Harley and Cyrus-actually my fave Harley pairing was with Philip, with Gus being a close second-but I do readily admit they had sexual heat and I wasn't so outraged about the whole Marina thing because the Coopers have made a sport out of sharing people.
Frank and Buzz shared Olivia, then preached and scorned Harley. Marina bedded Harley and Lucy's ex-husband Alan-Michael and he was also once her stepfather and thought he could be her dad at one point! Then there's her constant flirtation with Harley's other ex, Mallet. So I'm sorry if she doesn't inspire my sympathy as the "Woman Wronged".

The Differnce is with Harley is the key word "ex" Cyrus was "Fiancee" not Ex Fiancee, Fiancee ( yes I Know im spelling it wrong) She was totally wronged. If Cyrus and Marina were broken up for the same length as Harley was with Mallet and Alan-Michael this would totally be a different story.Like it or not Buzz was in the wrong too but Buzz and Frank were in love with Olivia at the same time. Frank didn't date her for almost a year and then Buzz had these feelings..

It was a very soapy story - soap characters fall in love with the wrong people all the freaking time. Harley tried to fight it and kept pushing him away but Cyrus was very, very persistent.
Harley didn't set out to hurt Marina and she does feel bad about that. I really can't say the same about Marina not trying to hurt Harley - she led her to believe that Crazy Phillip was still on the loose (ironically pushing Harley and Cyrus even closer together - gotta love that karma) and she sent Pheobe into the picture. Harley risked her life to save Marina and Marina's vindictive and bratty behavior shows her to be a small and petty person.
Oh well, she can console herself by having sex with her godfather.

Harley didn't risk her life to save Marina she risked her life saving Cyrus and Marina did ask her to do that not to fall in love with the guy. She started kissing him when the building collasped on them Who does that ! The last thing on my mind would be to kiss my Nieces Boyfriend If I was going to die.

I wonder if Harley will have time while she is still in town to find out that Cyrus cheated on her? Or maybe he will bed Cassie again and she will walk in on them. Now that would be sweet.
Sorry if some are feeling sour grapes but these things can't be helped. They were a ridiculous couple in the first place with a lame story that according to my "study" 75% of GL fans didn't like. Harley actually lost fans who had been loyale for years to her. Sad really. And honestly when she found out RPG was leaving she said that 2008 was supposed to be the year GusH reunited. Doesn't sound like even the leading lady was all that committed to Hyrus.
Who knows what the future will bring for Cyrus. Maybe he has a lack luster romance with Cassie much like the one he had with Harley. Maybe he eventually finds his way back to the one woman who truly loved him. I'm hoping for that personally but right now all I can say is free at last, free at last, thank God we are free at last!

How do those sour grapes taste?
I liked the potential of CHarley. I hated most of the writing for them but Beth and Murray had terrific chemistry together. Yeah, Beth said that 2008 was the year GusH was supposed to reunite but she has also said that she loved working with Murray (and he said the same thing about her).
If GL had been smart, and they seem to go out of their way to prove that they are not, they would have had Gus ditch Nat and Olivia and get back in Harley's orbit. A Gus/Harley/Cyrus triangle would have been hot.
