General Hospital: Perkie's Observations

Anybody who sees Jason as a hero after today, ugh. The man is a killer, and I don't want to hear that Karpov would kll him and he had to try and kill him first, no. Jason is no hero, I wish the show would stop portraying him as one.

I need a break from Liz, and she isn't even on much. I definitly need a break form Carly. I wish Bobbie could have her screen time. That's the one character I want to see back more than anyone on this show.

*sigh*

Love that Liz didn't get freaked out by Anthony. At least the writers remember her history with mobsters (unlike Alexis who they had freak out) and that Liz has dealt with mobsters putting a bomb in her studio and throwing her into a crypt. So words don't scare Liz easily.

Carly is just annoying, peroid. I don't understand what TIIC is doing to this once enjoyable character.

LOVED LOVED the LuSam scenes. I though it was stupid also for Lucky to put the peroxide over the shirt but maybe it's because he was so frantic and nervous he wasn't thinking. the fact he just called Liz and she was like what do you want me to do without question really made me happy. Also the Sam/Liz scenes were wonderful. They have great chemsitry and it's time to start a new Fab Four.

I just hate Kate. Jason and Sonny are best friends before business partners who why is she all upset and stuff over Jason coming over. I just hate that character.

Still don't feel sorry for Lulu. I was hoping that syringe contained bleach and heroin mixed so it would kill her.

LMAO @ BigDeDe. I agree though, I just don't feel sorry for Lulu. Her screaming all over the place made me more annoyed than anything. I can't stand seeing her. Love JMB but, Lulu is just irritating. For someone who doesn't want to go crazy she sure has convinced herself that she is. She needs to confess or just shut up! The best part of those scenes was Lainey finally showing up!

Kate seriously annoys the hell out of me. Can she please shut up or buy a clue. I mean really, is it that hard to comprehend that your fiancee is not out of the business. I think Sasha coming in today should have waken her up, but no of course not. She asks Sonny and he flat out lies but she believes him. Ugh. Anywayyyyy.

I loved loved loved Claudia's scenes today. (I may be biased considering she's my favorite character but still.) Lol. They were short but sweet. I too loved when she yelled at Trevor to do something or she'd bring in someone younger. Claudia and Trevor always have the best scenes together. And oh boy am I glad she slapped the hell out of Scotty. Somebody had to! Lol.

The all mighty former enforcer turned mob boss couldn't shoot Karpov when he clearly had about 10 minutes to do so before the little girl arrived. LMAO. Really? Whatev...

Thank God they sedated Lulu... Love Liz.. she was clearly rattled, but held her own with AZ, you go girl OMG Kate shut your boney @ss up and go back to the snob factory you were cloned at. I'm sorry but when did Sonny hand her his balz and let her tell him who he can and can't trust or see?? I thought that was Carly's job! Jason.. never hesitate when you have a mans head in your crosshairs!! I was looking forward to an end to this story line honey... you should of shot him but you are still my Hero!

Why did Lucky call Liz? I mean, Nadine knew about Sam's undercover "job" and she is a nurse to boot. She could have taken a stash of supplies from the clinic and come to sew Sam up. It would have also made her feel like she was a part of this great drug caper since Nik kept shooting her investigations down. I understand that being outed to Liz was a plot point, but honestly for a secret operation, why bring someone in who isn't in on the secret?

Todays show was at least watchable. We all know Jax and Carly have some $ so yes, why was she walking on the pier, Limo not available or oh yeah bad Limo sex memories! Loved how Liz stood up to ZCrazy, was waiting for him to mention how she and Jason were there when he took his big leap. Sorry, just can't warm up to Lulu and Johnny, I just don't like them, wish they would have just kept running and running and running and right off of our TVs, can't stand them!! Won't even comment on Jason cause I know I will get crucified, (shhhhhh, I know I shouldn't, but I just love him)!! Oh and I forgot the biggest thing I wanted to say today to Skate, you are both so boring and hey Kate, STHU . . . PLEASE!!

lol...Perkie, that's the thing about GH. They wait for what seems like hours before they finally take a shot, at the end, they end up not taking the shot or shooting the wrong target, ex. Devlin and Mike's shooting. it just pisses me off.

And I totally agree with u, I respected JMB for the great acting, I don't even like Lulu, but she made me feel for her. Loved Claudia slapping scott for the comment about Johnny.
Crazy4gh, I love Jason too... It's just impossible to stop.

This is not meant to be another snarky comment to the writers, but it amazes me how there can be character that I really like and then that character is written to make me mute or FF their scenes.
I notice this pattern recurring and don't think it's just me as I know that others have expressed similar sentiments.
I really enjoyed SB as Carly. She was a dynamic character with many facets. Over the years, and esp. recently, she has become insufferable.
I thought JMB was a gem as Lulu and was such a great find in terms of casting. Loved her scenes when she first appeared. Then they had her sleep with her step-brother and become Carly Jr.
Now both Carly and Lulu scream their lines.
Was any of this necessary?
Liked KeMo on PC and there was so much hype when she came over to GH. I thought Sam was ok... and then they have her sleep with Sonny, Jax, stepdaddy Ric, Jason, Lucky....and turn her into a tramp who can't hold a steady job. And to top it off, she arranges for Liz's kids to be kidnapped. Are we supposed to sympathize with her?
She's become more sympathetic again lately but it's taken a while.
Liz's forgiveness helped (me at least).
Alexis - HELLO ...you are a smart woman. Stop sleeping with psychos, esp a homicidal maniac who held your daughter and nephew hostage and who blackmailed your nephew. Stop and see Mac, Scotty, Mayor Floyd...anyone but James Craig!
I have loved Robin since KMc came on as young Robin Soltini. Was thrilled to have her back in '05. The non-stop bickering with Patrick grew weary. Fortunately, the scripts are slowly changing. There is so much potential to pursue a HIV storyline, issues of who will take care of the baby, being a working mom, etc. She does not need to argue with Patrick about every little thing.
And now, even wonderful Megan Ward who has done a miraculous job of making Sonny likeable again... what are they doing to her? Turning her into a controlling, manipulative, insensitive fiancee.
Bring back the smart, confident career woman who has her own life and doesn't interfere in Sonny's. He's been there and done that (at least 4 times now).
Perhaps this is all in line with the way women are degraded on GH but it's sad to continually see characters that I've grown to know and love (or like at least) turn into someone who makes me cringe when they are on.

Nikolas remembers he's a Cassidine ... that he's dealt with psychopaths in his own family and is stronger for it. And he's told off AZ. Alexis seems to have forgotten who she is... that's she's also a Cassidine. She's survived Helena and yet she's a basket case when it comes to dealing with a lightweight (compared to Helena) like AZ. C'mon... where's the woman who used to flippantly mention that her uncles tried to freeze the world?

I never said he was a hero, I don't think he is a hero or ever has been portrayed as a hero. BUT I do think he has a good heart, he's hot and THAT is what I like about Jason. I like his chemistry with Liz and I LOVE Liason and I like many on here want them together. There are ALOT more liason lovers on here than there are liason/jason haters.
He is what he is because SONNY took him 'under his wing', had someone else come forward after what happened to him (ie:after AJ!!! scrambled his brain) then maybe Jason would've been a different person....but Sonny IMO is mostly to blame for the way Jason is.
All Jason is doing is trying to keep those he loves safe and hurting himself in the process, he has a good heart. THAT is why I like Jason. Does that make him a hero...no..and that's ok.

Oh no, Julie's got the goods. My wish for her is that when she comes back from her honeymoon she comes back to a better written character. I don't like when people lump the character and the actor together and make them the same. Julie should have an Emmy by now. I only hope that she can be given Emmy work.

And what's this I hear, Liz used her spine. I want to see Liz karate chop someone on this show. I'm tired of the constant needing to be saved by Jason. She's been through too much to be that woman.

And concerning Skate, how long did Brenda have her head in the sand regarding Sonny? I hope this doesn't turn into another wire-wearing scene to prove everyone wrong about Sonny and his mob dealings. I can't take another conniption fit from Sonny about loyalty.

And last but not least, mrsnoahdrake, what church do you preach at because you just found a new member.

Yes, JMB is capable of Emmy winning work and both she and KS deserve Emmys, but the way Lulu is written lately is not necessarily winning her a lot of fans. Trying to re-write Luke and Laura's on the run story is not working. They are not in Beechers' Corners and Lourdes and Sal are not that nice couple that Lloyd & Lucy stayed with. And I am not a JoLu fan, though there seem to be some out there.
Shoving a heroine down our throats (Lulu or otherwise) doesn't work.
Laura was not self-righteous and indignant.

aunti2egl, to say this show doesn't portray Jason as a hero is laughable. I wouldn't be surprised if I walked into GH's studios and found a statue in his image and likeness right in front.

A few weeks ago I made a case for and against Jason and I brought up the fact that Sonny introduced Jason into the mob soon after Jason had his accident. Whether or not AJ had confessed to what he did had nothing to do w/ Jason's involvement w/ Sonny. Understandably, almost everyone who knew Jason wanted him to get his memory back. He felt pressured by them and began acting out. But there were people who gave him space and were willing to accept him as is. Robin, Brenda, Lois, Ned, Lila, etc. And, while, at the time, Jason knew the consequences of getting into the mob he didn't quite understand how those consequences would affect his life and the people around him so dramatically. Jason never thought about the future, so he wasn't thinking about children or girlfriends or wives, etc.

Now, this is where the whole "Sonny leading Jason into hell" bit falls apart. Jason has had more than one opportunity to get out of the business and lead a "normal life". Soon after he started working for Sonny Robin begged Sonny to fire Jason and free him from the mob. Sonny complied and when Jason found out what Robin did they broke up and he soon went back to working for Sonny. Another time, after he and Robin had reconciled, he did leave the mob when Robin was almost killed in a car bomb explosion.

Jason is supposed to be seen as this tragic hero who tries to do the right thing and always sacrifices his happiness for everyone but that's just not the case. The life he lives is of his own choosing.

I'm not a Jason hater but let's keep it real.

season1217, right on. Did Sonny influence him to give up his rights to Jake, to stay away from Liz? Nope, Sonny wanted him to claim Jake and be his father. Sonny is no freaking saint by any means, but that is an old argument. Robin, Courtney begged him to leave a thousand times. How long has Jason been in the business and had countless times to get out? He's been making his own decisions for a long, long time now. He's been choosing for himself for like forever. I know there are Jason fans and Liason fans on this board, but that argument is old and tired. I've been watching GH for close to twenty years now, I've seen Jason due things that were never influenced by anyone but himself. Hey, I love Sonny, but I'm not blind to the things he does or make excuses for his actions or blame someone else for it. Just admit you like Jason for what he is and not that argument that it's someone else's fault he's that way or in that life style. I admit I'm a Sonny fan they way he is. See, I made a point and I didn't have to use caps.

Trisha: Lucky called LIz because he knew she'd come, no questions asked.  Nadine might be in on their stuff, but she might also feel obligated to report a gun shot wound.

season1217: I too hope that when JMB comes back, that Lulu is a more tolerable person.  I certainly hope that she and Maxie are no longer at each other's throats.  But I also wonder, where do they go with that character now?

Perkie, I think two things need to happen in order to turn the character of Lulu around. First, Genie Francis needs to be back on this show full time. Lulu is going to need to make some changes, especially, in her personality and the only person that can help her do that is her mommy. Laura needs to be her rock. They need to do w/ Lulu what they didn't finish w/ Carly, use the fact that this is a young woman, not only w/ daddy issues but mommy issues, as well. Make us see and understand why Lulu has become this way. Julie could pull off the scenes beautifully along w/ Genie and Tony. Can someone say Emmy reel?!

Second, she needs a viable love interest (when Sonny came on the show he was loathed to no end and as amazing an actor as Maurice Bernard was you wouldn't have loved him as much if not for Brenda). Laura would not be pleased to see her involved w/ a mobster. And as much as I like Brandon Barash it just ain't workin'. They need to introduce a character who is driven but that the audience would like. Lord knows Lulu would need someone in her life who has goals. Personally, I imagine that Jimmy Lee Holt has a son and he comes to town as Eric Quartermaine Jr. and the two of them fall in love.

Anyway, then I woke up and it was Tuesday and I had to go to work. LOL! Wow, this is the first time I'm using LOL!

season1217: I actually think Lulu needs to take a break from the relationships.  She's been in one or around one since she showed up SORASED.  She needs to focus on the rest of her life and how it doesn't revolve around a boy.

So true Perkie. In the great words of Wendy Williams, "she needs to give that vajayjay a rest." Although, that's not the exact word she used I'm tryin' to keep it clean for the kids.
