Rena Sofer Turns Down GH Offer

Carolyn Hinsey has a new column at New York Daily News that is primarily about One Life to Live's Gigi and Rex but the biggest tidbit of info was buried at the bottom. According to the column General Hospital approached Rena Sofer about returning to Port Charles as Lois, last portrayed by The Bold and the Beautiful's Lesli Kay.

Carolyn Hinsey has a new column at New York Daily News that is primarily about One Life to Live's Gigi and Rex but the biggest tidbit of info was buried at the bottom. According to the column General Hospital approached Rena Sofer about returning to Port Charles as Lois, last portrayed by The Bold and the Beautiful's Lesli Kay.
Sofer, who has a recurring role on NBC's Heroes and appeared in the last season of 24 will be next seen in Rock Slyde, a movie about "a down and out private detective engages in a turf war with a upstart quasi-religious cult."

She made the right move. If the writing was different it would be great to have her back and Wally Kurth, as well.
Well if they bring back Wally Kurth as Ned and Adrianne Leon or some other actress to play to part of BrookLynn, then it would be nice to have her back. It would even be great to see her with her one time BFF, Brenda (that is if they can figure out whether she's coming back or not). The problem is without those 3 characters, the only other person she was connected to was Sonny, and well there are too many characters brought in just to be connected to Sonny.
She was great in Heroes and I know she's going to be on the 3rd season as well so I think it's a good career move to keep doing what she's doing. But it would be great to have her back on GH.
I bet they wanted her to come back as a friend of Connie Falconeri(kate). Still, would prefer Wally Kurth to be with her.
Oh yeah lizznJas4ever, I forgot about Kate, she would know her! It would be funny to see Kate's reaction at seeing Lois and Lois accidentally spilling the beans about Kate's true identity. Lois would definitely give this show the spice it needs.
Didn't she have a romance w/ Jax at one point too? I'd like to see her give Carly a run for her money

Well, who knows. I don't mind either way. But Rena Sofer is a notorious show killer, lol. Like 2 out of her last 10 shows are still on the air (Heros and 24)
Rena should realize that she's not some big time actress. If GH came calling to help revamp the Qs by getting Lois back, then I say go for it. But Guza is still writing, so i don't know...

I love Rena/Lois but she made the right decision. GH is a mess, right now.

He was trying to get w/ Lois but when Rena decided to leave the show they had his character begin to fall for Brenda. Oh man, good times, good times!

I almost voted yes, but w/out Nedly there......it just wouldn't be the same. I love Rena, Lois was awesome....but I had to vote no.

Yeh I remember that......man when Jax first came on, he was so so so hot!!! BUT when he very first came on, I hated him, that lasted about 5 mins. LOL!! I am the hugest Ingo fan! Probably bigger than Steve...well, maybe it's a tie. Loved Jax w/ Brender.
Good for Rena! I'm glad she said no. GH suxs! Back in the day it rocked, so I don't blame Rena one dang bit.......
Imagine if Rena had been playing Lois when they hooked the character up w/ Lorenzo.

While it was probably good that she said "no" because the writing of GH is horrible, the character of Lois when she played her was wonderful. She didn't let the Quartermaines tell her what to do. I loved Ned and Lois.
I don't blame her for turning down the gig because Guza will only use Lois to pimp Skate and the writing on this show is horrible. I think she would have said yes if a good headwriter was on here.

Stay far, far away, Rena! You can do so much better than General Mobspital. Vanessa Marcil needs to keep away too. Unless of course GH gets a new regime.
^^Oh, if Guza&Co. come knocking at VM's door, she needs to run the other way.
I agree OldGHFan and Jenny, that's why I can't celebrate Genie Francis' return and I shutter at the thought of Jagger coming on the show.
Ugh, that better not be Carolyn Hinsey's new employer. Seriously, everyone connected to daytime just needs to stop paying attention to her.
I think any vet considering returning to GH should be cautious. In my opinion, Guza doesn't have time for anything beyond his mob storylines....and everything else suffers because of it. It's like he's trying to write an opus now that he has Vincent Pastore from the Sopranos...except who will care by that time...and will there be anyone left to watch it?

She is really wise NOT to go to a show who is tanking and written so poorly. I quit watching BUT will start again WHEN Guza is out.
Then with a GOOD HW, people I love can come back.
I would much rather have Ned and BrookLynn back. If the whole family could come back then sure but for now still waiting for Wally Kurth to rejoin the Qs.
Are you serious? I'm so happy to hear that! I hope that she returns to Nathan, obviously after some serious groveling on his part! I just can't stand to see him with Tracy/Nikki or another one! Do you know which episode will mark her return? I promise that if he and Nathan really divorce/separate and he ends up in a 'relationship' with Tracy, I will quit watching the show!
