Insiders are reporting that former Passions, hunk Galen Gering (Luis Lopez-Fitsgerald) has landed a contract role on Days of Our Lives. No word yet on the role he's playing however, he will be acting opposite Alison Sweeney's (Sami) character.

Gering will reportedly make his first appearance in Salem in October.

Why is Galen's character going to be wasted on Sami?
Oh no! Don't tell me Sami will have to choose between Lukas, EJ and a third guy! Grrr!
I would love to see Galen on Days, but it's true: I also don't want to see him wasted on Sami. UGH!

And she's getting a new hunk?
I do hope he is a Brandon recast if anything, but I'd rather have the original actor back - Matt Cedeno.
Brandon was Abe's son after all and Matt's REAL father is African Cuban and his mom is English/Irish.
And what storylines will be dropped now with 2 new characters being added to the DAYS canvas?
Days should bring on McKenzie Westmore and give the fans what we deserve: McGalen!
Maybe he's a character that will get Ali off the canvas for her maternity leave in a couple of months...
