She played a model on TV and now Vanessa Marcil (Brenda, General Hospital) will host the new Lifetime series Blush: The Search for the Next Great Make-Up Artist. According to We Love Soaps, the Emmy winner's latest project kicks off on Tuesday, November 11, 2008.

In each episode of BLUSH: THE SEARCH FOR THE NEXT GREAT MAKE-UP ARTIST, the contestants, all living under one roof in Los Angeles, compete in two different make-up competitions, designed to test the skills and personality traits - including compassion and confidence - necessary for success in the field. Following the second challenge, one contestant will be eliminated.

I like Leyla. She's not a Brenda-bot! Yeah, she and Vanessa look similar but at least she hasn't been tainted by Sonny.

You guys are too funny.. yes Lifetime and ABC are kissing cousins and the plan from what I read is that this Blush was supposed to partner up with Project Runway when it debuts on the network BUT there is some hold up with that so they decided to kick it off on its own. It's only 6 episodes or something like that so I wouldn't consider this as making it impossible for VM to return to GH. She will still have her recurring role on Lipstick Jungle.
Next best makeup artist? OY! They will make a reality show out of anything nowadays. What's next? The next best housekeeper, next best plumber, next best graveyard digger! Sheesh. Yes Jamey and Luke have too much time on their hands, don't you all feel sorry for us?
I'd rather go back to GH what ever shape it's in then host a reality show.
While this show doesn't seem that promising not all reality shows are bad. There's Project Runway, Top Chef, Top Design. They are all competition reality shows that I think are really good.

DAMN! Who is giving this woman career advice? I'd rather she do straight to DVD movies than submit herself to the wasteland,that is reality t.v! Hollywood is a cruel and unforgiving place,especially for actresses approaching 40. Daytime is the one place where Vanessa can actually shine and maintain some sort of status. Wasting your time by lending your name to a one of those garbage reality competition shows,is just sad!
I'm a Leyla fan also season and a Pushing Daisies fan as well but I guess we're the only two Leyla fans around!
Sometimes two is the loneliest number.

Leyla is growing on me... I think I would have liked her on NS and paired with Leo. NB has definitely improved.
I don't think hosting a reality show is bad for a career, hosting a bad reality show however could be.
