"Destiny" Comes A-Knocking On B&B

Was Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Ridge’s (Ronn Moss) Malibu reconciliation a return to romance for The Bold and the Beautiful, or are they beating a dead horse?
Brooke and Ridge's relationship divides viewer opinion, but it can’t be denied they have their fervent fans. For over twenty years they have been at the center of the action on B&B. Personally, I can’t bear them together. Ridge is such an arrogant jackass and he treated Brooke like his back-up, ego-stroking floozy for years. Yes, I remember, I was there the first time it looked like Taylor had croaked, but was in fact being held captive by a Moroccan Prince. As always, Brooke stepped up and offered herself to Ridge. She still can't get enough of him.
What is it with that jerk? The smarmy pig must be damn good in the sack to keep all those women throwing themselves at him. And don’t get me started on that ugly Cracker Jack box ring he gave her. Sorry, Ridge fans.

As much as I dislike the coupling, the flashbacks to 1994’s Malibu wedding, and both of them showing up at the same spot, was cheesy as hell, but I loved it. Brooke on horseback, Ridge on a mountaintop… what’s not to like? Well, the couple I guess, but whatever. It was gloriously soapy. The history between Brooke and Ridge is a cornerstone of this show, so it was a welcome relief from the Katie and Donna-centric storylines that have been playing out.
The same old tosh about Brooke and Ridge's “destiny” and proclaiming never to part
again had me gagging, but I’ve been watching their interplay for years and it’s something I’m invested in, which is more than can be said for my sympathy for Katie’s ongoing perils, or Donna’s idiotic tramp shtick.
Now, flashbacks of Brooke and Ridge’s jungle wedding would’ve had me puking in a bucket, so I’m grateful they didn’t go there. Loincloth? Check. Headdress? Check. That was a sight to behold.

Hey, Darren, you are not the only one sick of the "Bridge" go around the thousandth time. The couple is disgusting and sick and twisted and is not a loving, caring, couple like Luke and Laura and Bo and Hope. They are just a bed hopping tramp and a mama's boy who needs someone to tell him that he the world's greatest and Brooke's self-esteem is so low to be dropping the sack with any guy who say hi to her is just dumb for her own good. Brad is a chavanuist pig who thinks that a women only self worth is a man and the man is a self-absorbed jerk who need their egos stroke is getting on the fans nerves. Bell, do something new and break them up forever.

ITA with everythng you wrote Darren! The pleasure I see in Brooke and Ridge together is all about campiness and silly fun, not about romance. I *literally* chuckle through their scenes together, especially when Brooke utters the "D" word - has it occured to them that Destiny has been trying to pull them apart all these years and that's why they can never stay together, lol?
They really have been doing this story for 20 years (first the Caroline/Ridge/Brooke story then Taylor/Ridge/Brooke), not to mention the Stephanie/Eric/(instert name of younger hottie here) story - it's just so ridiculous. The actors sell it, but they should, since they've been playing the same scenes for 20 years, LOL

Brad Bell needs to grow the characters up on the show and let them move on.

Season, you'd really push Ridgiepoo off the cliff?! Me too.
Daisyclover, the "D" word cracks me up everytime - it's a testament to KKL's acting abilities that she can say it with a straight face.
Simonstuart, "a bed hopping tramp and a mama's boy" LOL! I still like Brooke, but it gets tiresome when she gets the same foolish lines year after year. There was a point I thought they'd moved the character on (i.e. her last marriage to Nick), but then she started groping Ridge in a broom closet because she was jealous he was dating dumbass Donna. Argh!

Darren, I like KKL, but I am like Brooke when she is being responsible with her faults and owning up to them. I feel that are reverting her back to the "I need a man" mentality like twenty years ago and I do believe that Bell got a thing for Brooke and he needs to grow the character up. I believing that even KKL is tired of the back and forth with Ridge and any other man of the week and wants her to grow up herself and be a good mother to her three kids. I think that Bell needs to get out of the Brooke fantasy thing he got for her and move the show on and stop making the women on the show doormats to the pigs on here.

Very funny ones guys!
They are too old to be funny or sexy anymore, on the same story I mean, what is it 30 year later the same storyline?

Simonstuart, when you said "stop making the women on the show doormats to the pigs on here" I cracked up. It's sooo true, dammit.
