In what is sure to silence those General Hospital comeback rumors (at least temporarily), Vanessa Marcil is joining CBS' Without a Trace for a multi-episode arc, sources confirm to me exclusively.
According to Ausiello, Vanessa is playing a social worker who MAY turn into a love interest for Martin. Marcil's appearance on Without A Trace kicks off on the show's 17th epsiode airing sometime in March.

I don't blame Vanessa for doing everything not to come back to that mess, but if they are writing in scenes for her to appear in and then she keeps bolting at the last minute that needs to stop. I know anyone can be recast but for me Vanessa is Brenda like Victoria is Dru. W/that said I can get used to a recast overtime or instantly (loving Noelle Beck as Lily and I loved Sabine Singh as Greenlee).

I'm glad she's not coming back and I love Brenda. But this I'm only coming back if I can't get any other work is bull shit. Just say no and that's it. Fans need to realize it ain't gonna happen. She might be 40 but she's still hot so she'll get work. As long as she doesn't have the same plastic surgen as Heather Locklear she's fine.

She is on a hit show, but I glad she is not coming back to the horrible show as Gh. I hope that this is the year that Guza get his walking papers and the show can be rebuild to the great soap that it can and I think that VM would come back if Guza is not there, anymore.
