Dinah and Mallet Still Have "It"

Yesterday's Guiding Light was bittersweet for me because it reminded me of what once was. There are two primary reasons I got hooked on Guiding Light, Lizzie and the chemistry of Dinah and Mallet. Unfortunately, Dinah and Mallet imploded. Since Jeff Branson's arrival as Shayne Lewis, and his amazing chemistry with Dinah, I had all but forgotten about the one-time connection between Dinah and Mallet, until yesterday. Seeing them bond over the baby I couldn't help but think that Gina Tognoni and Robert Bogue still have it.

Guiding Light has made drastic improvements since February and I sincerely hope that the show decides to amp up the Dinah/Mallet/Marina/Shayne quad. There is oh so much potential there. More pictures after the jump.

Wow!!! I love Shayne and Marian!!! But, Mallet and Dinah are magic!!!!!!!!!!!!! I llike both of these and yes I do see a quad coming. So, let the games begin!

A quad could be reaalllyy good!! I can now say that I the have faith in GL to do it right!!
I must say tho, I do miss my Dinah and Mallet... It was one of the main reasons I got hooked on Guiding Light also. Oh and because of Tom Pelphrey of course!!

Mallett & Dinah should be the endgame, of course. A Cyrus/Marina/Shayne triangle would be better. A Cooper caught between her first love (a Lewis) and possibly her true love (a tasty Aussie).
Maybe if it's written right, we could get a Dinah/Mallett/Marina/Shayne quad with Cyrus as the explosive spoiler.

Dinah and Mallet definitely still have it after seeing yesterday's show. First with the witty banter at the Embassy when Dinah tried to get Lara's mail, and Mallet had to calm her down, and then she helping him with the adoption agency. It looks like Dinah still loves him dearly, she even has her wedding ring with her. And Bogue has done some of his best work in awhile, when he finally got to hold that baby, and naturally Tognoni was right there in the scene with him. A messy quad with Mallet/Dinah/Shayne/Marina would be perfect.

I agree THEBEST, I can't stand Mallet and Marina!! And I l o v e d Cyrus and Marina...GL missed something HUGE with them... and then if you add in Shayne?? I would be tooo happy.

I never watched when Dinah and Mallet were together but the few scenes I have seen I must say I like them very much. Yesterday I also liked Shayne and Marina, they look good together and it was nice seeing Shayne smiling and not be broody all the time.
If the writers are smart they will make an explosive quad with these four, and I agree, throw Cyrus in there too.

A Shayne/Dinah/Mallet triangle makes far more sense than a Cyrus/Marina/Shayne one. Mostly because Branson has explosive chemistry with Tognoni but only cute friendship chemistry with Bruno, which is fine because that's what those characters should be with each other at this point in their lives. They were cute high-school sweethearts at one time but they were not passionate, stop-the-world, I-can't-live-without-you lovers or anything.
The only person Marina's ever felt that way about was Cyrus. They should be reunited without suffering through yet another triangle first, especially since they already have plenty of internal conflict between them without a third-party.
Mallet absolutely has to be back in Dinah's orbit, he just doesn't work anywhere else and Bogue has chemistry with absolutely nobody other than GT. If Dinah & Mallet don't end up reunited, Mallet should be written off altogether. Bogue's version is useless without Dinah.

Yep, count me in for the Dinah/Mallet/Marina/Shayne quad, but I agree with Revafan001 - proceed slowly with it, especially since it appears the show will continue for another year.

I know you guy's at CBS are reading this web-site now ...because I called CBS early this week and spoke with a live person. I let them in on this site and they said they would be reading our posts for reaction to their story lines. If you are reading like you said please get Mallet & Dinah back together ASAP they are perfect for one another. There are lot's of fans that don't understand why they were ever broken up in the first place...very stupid writing decision.

I used to love Mallet and Dinah. In their prime they were my favorite couple, but I no longer want them together. For one, I was and always will be a Dinah fan first and I began hating Mallet after Dinah obtained her head injury. He was always so tough on her even though she saved his life. I hated when he got so sanctimonious with Dinah especially when it came out that he used to be a hitman. That's really when I became to hate the character of Mallet. It wasn't that he was a hitman, but how he still judged others without looking in the mirror first.Second, his whole relationship with Marina has been so boring that I can barely tolerate him anymore. Plus, I still want a Shayne/Dinah romance!
