Thom Bierdz is playing Uncle Langley but that can change because there is no other reason for him to play Uncle Langley but to come back as Phillip III

Phillip III is Back and he is Uncle Langley. Y&R is on fire - i didn't hear anything about this until today. Wow! Bring it on.

Jamey and the rest of the crew at DC needs to do a podcast on this comeback alone. I love me some Y&R.

Tom Bierdz played the original Phillip Chancellor III, who died in a car accident, and, as we learned, was a baby Kay had swapped with the real Chancellor heir (supposedly (?) Cane Ashby).

Nina's son, Phillip Chancellor IV is coming to town soon.

If Genoa City is losing family characters, my bet is on the Newmans' Victoria and JT. Sadly, I can see them either being sent off to live happily ever after or dropped to recurring status.

The only other families on the show are Winters, Chancellors/Ashby, Abbotts and Baldwins. There are only 3 Winters members on contract. Can't see which Abbott other than Colleen who might be cut. The others are pretty in stories. Baldwins? Jenna has been having those mysterious headaches...

I'm not sure where Daniel and Amber are placed in the family trees.

At this point, I think most of the actors are wise enough to take paycuts and be happy for a steady gig. Where else are they going to go?

BTW, given that B&B is adding two contract players with the addition of Don Diamont and Rick Hearst, that must mean someone is going to either get the ax or need to take a paycut on B&B. Thorne? Felicia? Katie? Marcus?

Devon/Tyra: The writers are quite inventive here in my estimate by making Tyra not related to Devon; she's not even his aunt. I kept asking why does it take his Aunt Virginia (I thought Virginia was Neil's aunt at first)to reveal something about Devon's father that Tyra (being his aunt) couldn't have provided. So what now, Devon starts to focus on tracking down his bio dad. I had a suspicion after I read Aunt Virginia reveals something about Devon's family, that it would be that Tyra was not going to be related.

Cane/Phillip III: Interesting enough, the writers are taking us back to when Cane first showed up in GC and he was on the phone with someone saying that he was in. Well that someone on the other end of the line was his Uncle; the brother of the woman he thought was his mother who raised him after she passed away in Australia; this will be revealed May 15. So the uncle is going to be played by Thom Bierdz.

Raul Guittierez (David Lago): Interesting. Raul proposed to Mac while Mac was in Darfur. Ok. Well, I was thinking that the writers were going to pair Raul up with Rafe. Darn it! For those of you who are leaning towards an Adam/Rafe pairing, b/c of chemistry (which I hadn't detected), that could still be a possibility. Maybe Adam turns out to be bisexual.

Jeanne Cooper did say this "Katherine will be involved with a character coming back to Genoa City who has not been on the show. And, through that character all hell will break loose; business wise, relationship wise… you name it, it will happen. It will affect everybody, and it’s not John Abbott! It’s a real human being. (She laughs) It will shock the shoes off of you on how the person comes back, and why!"

It's a character who has not been on the show - would that be Phillip IV - Nina's son. Hasn't Phillip III been on the show previously?

TPTB are reworking the Chancellors and believe me Uncle Langley will turn out to be Phillip III

About BB --- Thorne, Marcus and Felecia need to go but the safe bet would be poor Marcus sent to Forrester Internationals

Thom Bierdz is coming back!?!?!??? Where does it anything say about that. But it would be great!!! And I would be all for it for him to return. Nina is in town, Phillip IV is coming ... and when Bierdz comes back and turns out to be Phillip III ... I think I would go crazy. LOL In a very good way.

And Mac is engaged to Raul? WTF!?!?!? And she isn't telling anyone until he arrives? I still hope that Raul stays.

Devon and his family ... sorry, but no interest at all ... only if this is his exit story.

Paul and Mary Jane should be interesting. Hopefully she will turn out to be Paul's sister Patty.

And Jack wanting to raise the baby even if it's his brother ... sorry, but it's kind of sick. If you can't get mad at Sharon, be a friend to her and offer support ... but to raising a child with her that could be not only from his former step-son, but also from his half-brother ... it's just wrong man. LOL

On today's Canada Y&R epyy - on the preview Thom Bierdz was seen as the person on the other line after Cane said "I'm in" It was freaky - i was dancing around like a maniac. Cane is a fraud.

@sanka9: OMFG ... thanks for sharing that with us. Can't wait to see it! Seems like they finally will do something interesting with the character of Cane. It's about time! LOL

Y&R is on fire with the introduction of Tom again..they are dipping into the past, to the glory days, and we love it....but who the F@#% is he playing...Phillip...the twin brother of Phillip who Catherine switched not knowing it was a twin...WTF is going on....shouldn't these guys be the same age......this is awesome

And this Uncle Langley business is very intriguing. I still am drinking the MAB Koolaid but I am sipping slowly because if MTS leaves I will trade my koolaid in!

I know! I thought it was Thom so I googled him. I too freaking out, all I could say after that was "What the f***?" This had better get awesome!!!

Y&R continues to remind me why I've stuck it out as a fan for 22 years.

Mary Jane's identity: Though I suppose it could be Patty Williams, Mary Jo Mason or Diane Jenkins, the most plausible seems to be Patty. If its Mary Jo, why would Victor align himself with a woman who shot him in the past? If its Diane, whom is raising Jack and Diane's son Kyle? Paul investigating a woman who turns out to his own, estranged, bat-shit-crazy sister is delicious.

Mac/Raul: I've assumed Mac's awkwardness around Billy was due to Clementine's lack of chemistry with Billy Miller. That may still be the case, but perhaps this awkward distance that Clementine Ford portrays is her interpretation of a woman hiding a secret engagement to the childhood friend (Raul) of another man (Billy) who is chasing after her to the point of stalking. I'll be curious to see if Clementine has chemistry with David Lago (Raul), as she doesn't have much with anyone else.

Cane/Thom Beirdz: I really have to commend MAB and gang for (1)adding another exciting layer to Y&R history/linking history with present, (2) revisiting the mysterious phone call Cane made a year (approx) ago, and (3) keeping this under wraps for as long as they did. In the age of the Internet, spoilers all over the Blogosphere make it fairly easy to find out virtually everything that is come. However this actually was kept under wraps. That in of itself is amazing.

My head spins of possibilities as well as questions. If Thom Bierdz returns in the role of Phillip III, a few things can be explained. Cane's DNA match to Jill as well as being a possible match for Delia's dad could be explained by Phillip III/Uncle Langley providing Cane with the DNA. If I recall correctly Cane took two DNA tests, both with different results, so I'm assuming the one that matched Jill's DNA was because the DNA was provided by Phillip.

If Phillip III is in fact alive I will be eager to see how MAB and gang explain Phillip's death. Did he fake his death? If so was this to escape manipulative wife Nina (who was carrying his child), overbearing mama Jill and drunk grannie Kay?

If Kay's memory of switching Jill's son with another infant is legit, then are we to believe that Phillip isn't Jill's son either? Phillip has been using Cane to access the family fortune? If so, how long has Phillip, while pretending to be dead, known he's not Jill's son? How did he find out? While in hiding did he hear a news item that Jill's son has been switched at birth, he saw an opportunity?

Imagine when Amber learns that it was Cane who duped her as opposed to the other way around, when Amber and Cane conveniently met online while Cane was searching for his biological mother. Imagine when Billy learns that his brotherly fued is with a man who isn't even his brother. Imagine when Chloe learns she conned another con artist (faking that Delia was Cane's child). Imagine when just as Neil seems to approve of Lily and Cane, that he learns Cane isn't whom he says he is. I can't wait to see how this all pans out.

Is any one else feeling nauseous from this roller coaster ride with nick/Sharon/Phyllis/jack man make up your minds already i getting giddy as for the cane thing i hope this s/l is good because it was mentioned about some shady dealings behind cane's past.

Ok, who is this Uncle Langley? How can the writer's explain the age difference? If Cane and Phillip were switched at birth, Phillip could not possibly be his Uncle. Is Uncle Langley the "evil twin" of Phillip III? I too am glad MAB is deciding to pursue this story after a year. Is this the character that will work with Katherine and change her life somehow? I like the fact that Devon has a father that knows nothing about him. I think it is about time that he get a strong storyline of his own. I cannot believe Jack is going to find out about Billy and Sharon so soon. I hope Sharon decides to stay with Jack and they raise the child together. I am a big Jack and Sharon fan.

if there was a switch at birth, maybe they make the real Phillip....Michael Balwin...or would that be too silly....I think it's better than having Gloria as Kay's real daughter

Yay for Original Recipe Phillip coming back, I've never liked Cane and I would be so thrilled if he is proven to be a fraud. If this comes to pass Maria Arena Bell can rent my womb for free if she wants a new baby.

As for how Jack is still willing to raise Sharon's bastard child who could be Billy's, I'm sorry but my Jackie would not stand for this, he has three children of his own (I count Luan's daughter because Jack is the closest thing she has to a living parent) and when Phyllis hooked up with Nick after she and Jack's divorce, he was so hurt (that's why I'm still a bit harsh on Phyl) so I don't understand why he wants to stay married to Sharon. Like soapjunkie said he can hold her hand and be a friend but DEAR LORD he needs to cut that tacky little skank loose and if he does end up being that baby's father he can be a father without having to be be married to its loser mother.

I am obsessively curious about Cane's backstory. So far, he's had 3 DNA tests: The two with Jill that had opposite results, and also the one with Delia. And then there's P3 (or maybe P3's twin) as Langley? For all of my b*tching, I guess I will be tuning in tomorrow and the next day, and the next day after that to see what's going on.

Nick is always making promises to both Sharon and Phyllis. When is the camera going to pan down and show his fingers crossed?

As for Mac, Brock did say that Mac had moved on. I'm interested to see if she has ANY chemistry with Raul (because she certainly has none with Billy). I'm sorry, but the deserts of the Sudan were NOT kind. It's hard to see Billy/Mac together - I look at her and all I can think of is "Mrs Robinson."

I really can't wait to see what is really going on with Cane. He has to be the real Phillip III because of the DNA test he did with Delhia. Which means he has to be Billy's brother and Jill's real son.

But then, why would he tell Kay that he wanted to donate all of his inheritance to charity? That struck me as odd. Did he say that because he knows the real Phil III is still alive and the true heir to the Chancellor fortune?

Mac/Billy/Raul- Not feeling it at all. The writers need to spice this up and fast because Clem just doesn't do it for me. Sorry, time for a recast.

I am SICK TO DEATH of the Sharon/Phyllis/Jack/Nick storyline. It's time for Nick to get into an accident again isn't it?! He gives sloppy seconds a whole new meaning. Sharon needs to lose this baby, go completely insane (because she's only partially crazy now), Jack needs to give Billy a beat down and then get kidnapped by crazy Mary Jane aka Patty and Phyllis can hook up with Uncle Langely.

I'm glad Tyra is exposed..I dont like her. She seems very sneaky. Maybe Devon's dad will arrive in GC and hook up with Liv since she seems to be staying around lol. Don't know what the motive behind Adam haunting Ashley is, but I love that s/l I think it's hillarious. Is that his way of getting back at Jack or Victor? Either way Ashley is once again a pawn in someone's game. The idea of Adam being gay or bi has crossed my mind too...risque lol Can't wait to see what comes of the Cane/Phil3 s/l.

TIME TO PARTY!!! Yayyy.....myabe Tyra will leave the show.....hate her, hate her, and hate her!! And Take little Milk of Mag-Nausea with her...can't take anymore singing....which isn't bad by itself, but the acting makes me want to cry!!

Now as several had said here..... gorgeous hunky Thom Bierdz CANNOT be uncle Langly and Phillip III since Phillip and Cane are the exact same age.....HELLOOOOOOOO....remember Kay switched them at birth????

I don't remember 3 DNA tests being done with Cane.....but if he matched Delia's which means he's a match with Billy....then again....hellloooooooo.....he's Billys brother....which would make him jill's son. I am so curious if Thom Bierdz will be playing the Dead Phillip Chancellor III or another character.....don't forget it's been done before....Quinn REdecker was Nikki's rapist faather and then a few years later the endearing Rex Stirling. And there's two other actors that played different roles on the show, one played Jill (temp) and then Laurie Brooks (temp)...and I can't think of the 3rd one.

Anyways, all that being said, I love the many theories out there and can't wait to find out about Cane's past and who Thom Bierdz is.....droooooool.

Oh btw....I just found out that Mac in real life came out as lesbian in an interview.....very interesting...and it suddenly explains some of her lack of chemistry with Billy....besides looking 10 yrs older than him. But I'm more disappointed to learn that Raul proposed to her. I was so hoping that Raul and Billy would finally discover their love for each other since they were the perfect couple growing up.

As for Rafe and Adam.....well, I don't want that for poor Rafe....Adam can be super sexy if he's a nice guy, but he's such a turnoff for a bad guy....I think Rafe deserves better.....so hopefully Rafe and Phillip Chancellor IV will hookup and Rafe can become Mr. Chancellor IV!!!!
