General Hospital's Spixie and M&M (Photos)
By Luke Kerr on June 15, 2009

General Hospital may have eased off trying to recreate the magic of Kirsten Storms and Jason Cook as Shelle on Days of Our Lives, but that doesn't mean they won't tease former Shelle fans. I've always enjoyed the Spixie dynamic. I think Bradford Anderson and Kirsten Storms have amazing chemistry and I hope that, eventually, they end up together. However, as a Days of Our Lives viewer, who watched Shelle, I have to say it is nice to see them share scenes together from time to time. Especially when it means watching Maxie throw a drink in Matt's face.

I really like Spinelli but I don't care for Spixie as a couple but I do like them as friends. But then I am more of a JoMax fan! I like Matt a lot more now that he is Patrick's brother.

I don't think any of this was about teasing fans of JC and KS. This was about Matt being a foil for Spixie, who are infantile, codependent, repetitive, and have the sexual chemistry of Edward and Big Alice. It's easier to have Matt as the big bad bully than to actually write an interesting relationship for these two. Probably the only reason Johnny wasn't in this role was he's backup in case Spixie continue to go downhill.

Is Matt really a bad character? He's just lost a patient and is drowning his sorrows. We know his father is an alcoholic. Doesn't this seem like something a depressed surgeon might due? Maybe the inclusion of Spixie is wrong but I don't have an issue with Matt's drinking. It's a realistic response to loss.

I'm really concerned about the future of soaps. It seems we spend so much time criticizing what we don't like about them and not saying what we like. How does this affect potential new viewers or current viewers?
As a viewer who has slipped in and out of watching soaps, the news of GL's impending demise has hit me hard. I just don't know what will become of the rest of these shows and their fine casts in the next few years.
I'm sure the networks look at how cheap reality programming is and hope that they could find a shoe-string budget show that will bring in twice the ratings.

I actually enjoyed those scenes. Like josstheguy said his father is a drunk so it is no surprise that he is heading in that direction. I actually started to like Matt once they made him Patrick's brother, but they still don't know what to do with him. I did chuckle at drunk Matt. LOL at Diane's comment about him being too young to cut into your head.
Although I thought it was very interesting when he said to Maxie that she likes Spinelli because he basically worships everything she does. It is pretty true, but not in the way that it should be true. I still feel like Maxie is selfish when it comes to Spinelli and only has these feelings for him when she thinks she is going to lose him. I get bored with selfish Maxie. I just like them more as friends and would rather see them have more of a Jason/Carly type relationship.

I enjoyed Matt as a drunk, but those fight scenes looked phony as anything.
Loved watching Maxie stand up for Spinelli and her feelings for him. I'm very much looking forward to seeing Spixie take the new step as a romantic couple. I love the chemistry between BA and KS and have been waiting for over a year to see them together.

I was glad to see Spinelli trying to stand up for Maxie and for himself. He's a great guy, honorable and with the best intentions. He saw that Matt was being heavy handed and grabbing Maxie unceccasarily and he intervened. Matt was a total jerk yesterday, and while I have enjoyed his character with Patrick and Robin in the past, I do not think I will be watching his scenes anymore. I wish Spinelli would have gotten at least one good punch in, because he has punched people before, but I love that he tried.
I really enjoyed Spinelli and Maxie's "date" before that happeend. Maxie telling Matt that she loved Spinelli was great. And her face when he said the lapdog comment was very telling. I don't believe she thinks of Spinelli like that at all. I think she's in love with him and trying to deal with the feeling of loving someone more than herself. I'm very interested in seeing their romance develop because I think it will be unlike anything either one of them has ever experienced.

I have to say that I loved all the scenes at Jakes ..
I thought they were good..
Loved that we had many characters at one place.....
Loved Johnny playing piano - that was so cool
Loved to see Diane and Alexis and lets not forget Colman....
I did hate Matt at that moment .... but I think I can understand him getting drunk.. let's not forget that his father was alcoholic ... I didn't like that matt was taking his anger out on Spinelli...
It was great to see Maxi stand up and defending Spinelli...
And I loved that Johnny wanted to help Spinelli too.. I hate that Spinelli behavior to Johnny I don't think Johnny deserve that...
But in the End Johnny did help .. and I loved him hitting Matt
Go Johnny..

The show was hilariously strange with Johnny's odd choice of music at Jake's, and all the goings on. Hate Matt right now. Spin was standing up for a lady, who has no interest in him and he couldn't take no for an answer. Loved Johnny's scenes with Spin, even though I'm Spixie fan all the way.
