JaSam fans can sleep tight tonight. According to Emmy producer Jim Romanovich, Kelly Monaco has re-signed with General Hospital. Here's what Romanovich tweeted:

Kelly Monaco is not going anywhere. i have heard from a source inside GH that she has re-signed.

Nothing like a little casting call to get negotiations moving I suppose. Here I thought they only did mobster moves on screen over at GH!

I am with u there i always knew it was a publicity stunt i am still LMAO. I really wish TPTB start caring about their shows and quit with the freaking politics soaps are in it's last days and they are playing games. (shakes head)

On one hand I find it tacky because they would never pull that stunt with their male stars but on the other hand I think more soaps need to let their actors know that you can and will be replaced if you start acting up.

Season, I have no problem with the tactics, but as you pointed out, they don't do this bull ish with the men. When Burton was holding out, I didn't see any "blue eyed, blond 35-ish male, capable of variation of stares: intense, blank, enraged, to play established character," casting calls being leaked.

i concur with the reknowned sexism and agism on this show, having said that (and i by now means have any inside info) it seems more like a straight pr move; like they were testing to see fans responses.

anyway - thanks jamey for reporting the news - even if it pained you.

and whew! (she says putting hand to forehead and not just for the unbearable heat in the northeast)

It was sexism at its best which apparently thats what GH and AMC are most known for. They have proven that they can recast, or kill off a female character but never a male it doesn't make much sense to me since OLTL successfully recast Todd but at least ratings wont be affected since Kelly is staying it does make me wonder how many recast we may see on AMC coming up due to the move, will we see a Kendall recast but no Zach?

Great news for Kelly fans. Not great for me. By the time show gets around to telling a story I actually want to see, with characters I actually want to watch, this show will be cancelled along with OLTL and AMC.

Maybe she got smart to the fact that there are lots of really talented actresses looking for work out there who could get her job in a flash.

Many of the re-cast names were posted on this very board.
With the end of GL, the coast switch for AMC and what many think will be the end for ATWT's soon. There is lots of talent out there, emmy winning talent.
