I've never had a problem with her as an actress. She's not Heather Tom. Tom played Victoria as feisty. That's not Amelia's Victoria.

Would I like to see Victoria feistier? Sure, but isn't that up to the writers also?

Maybe this will give Heinle something other to do than play doormat (her marriage to Brad) or pod wife to JT. The attempts to showcase her as something else, like her divorce from Brad or her friendship with Sabrina, were either too short to judge or poorly received, so maybe having something decent for her and her character might lessen some of the criticisms against her.

Not sure where Y&R is going with this. One one hand, it could be testing the waters to find an alternative for Kanan/Deacon that's better received than the Deacon/Amber pairing (which, despite the chemistry and history between Amber and Deacon, has been overshadowed by Deacon's reversion to a total badboy who is coercing Amber into sex and more) as well as giving Heinle a chance to be more than the pod wife she's been for the last year. Or if it's not an alternative for Deacon, maybe it's an attempt to make Deacon even worse than he is already by having him sleeping with someone on the side while working on Amber? If the latter, it's not new territory for Kanan after his pairing with KKL on B&B for Deacon's secret affair with mother in law Brooke, but does Heinle have it in her to play the secret mistress/cheating wife?

AlistairCrane please don't speak that Sarah Aldrich name into existence again. She was much worst than Amiela H.

Gosh I just want a Victoria to be her old self. Every since AH took over the role there has been something missing. She just isn't cutting it for me. She has no life in her in her scenes. At this point I just want someone knew to play the role since Heather Tom isn't coming back.

You have a point. Sometimes we can be too negative on the actors. So, I will cut Amelia some slack. People keep comparing her to Heather Tom's portrayal. But they should remember that Victoria was also very vulnerable when she first came on the show. Even when Ryan died and when she engaged in a relationship with Diego she was seen as tortured emotionally by her father. The two characterizations are not that far apart.

Thank you josstheguy! While Amelia gets all of the blame (deserved or not), I never hear anything about the writers not writing anything for her to play up (and that includes all of the writers since 2005). And maybe this storyline is the one that keep her on here, b/c there are some sparks and I like it. And I buy the whole life thing. She's a mom and a business woman and it is all catching up to her and she needs an escape and Deacon is that.

Amelia is lifeless in the role. A good actor could elevate the writing to a decent level. Heinle has proven she is incapable of doing that.

My thing with Amiela is she is hit and miss. Very inconsistent in the role. One minute she is good and then the next she is just as bad as watching paint dry. I do have to say the writing for Victoria hasn't been the best since AH has been in the role, but that still doesn't excuse her lackluster acting at times. With the hit and miss I feel she misses a lot more than she hits. She had big shoes to fill coming into this role and she IMO has failed to fill those shoes.

Last time I checked Daytime Confidential was a site where fans of soaps could air their opinions about the soaps they watch. If someone takes issue with a s/l or an actor's performance it's their prerogative and it's yours to disagree.

I am behind the re-casting of Christie Clark in the role of Victoria. She'd be fierce.

Inconsistent is the right word to describe Amelia! Smitty ITA. Case and pt. the scene a few wks back when Victoria and Nick were having beers. Snore city! And "Momma Seasons" ITA w/your mindset that I try to endorse. If you don't agree w/ppl then you don't and move on. I have accepted that I am one of the select few who likes Crystal Hunt on OLTL and I have accepted that most don't and that is cool. And another thing if ppl are wanting a strong actress to be Victoria, Christie Clark doesn't fit that. I seen the clips of her tenure before and watch when she and Austin came back, and she doesn't read as a strong actress. She is OK.

Christie Clark is Emmy nominated. She's a very strong actor.

I sorry, but I go to sleep when Victoria comes on the screen. She is doing it for me as Victoria Newman and it is time for a recast, STAT.
