MICHAEL: Your storyline with Chrishell Stause, as Jake and Amanda, has really had some legs to it. I kept thinking they would not keep this couple going. And many in soap land thought they would re-team you with Beth Ehlers (Taylor) who along with you, were part of the super-couple, Gus and Harley on Guiding Light. What are your thoughts on how this turned out?RICKY PAULL: You know, I have to hand it to “AMC”; they did not just do that. They toyed with it in the beginning and you never knew what could happen, but eventually, Beth has been great with Michael Knight (Tad) and Chrishell and I have something that is great, and she is terrific. As Liza Minnelli would say, “She is terrific, really terrific.” We do have chemistry, and she is one of my best friends now. I lucked out and we will see what happens. She is not going to stay on the show, not because of this move, but because her contract is up in January. Now I don’t know if she will really leave, but if she does, I will really miss her. It’s hard to have that lightning strike, but we have something really cooking. It’s been great, and when you are thrust into the forefront you know you are lucky, and you know you have been.

RPG is absolutely fabulous as Jake on AMC. I've watched for many years and he's my favorite Jake ever. Jake and Amanda really struck a chord with me, they are fun, sweet and sexy and have chemistry to spare. They've fast become my favorite couple on the show.
I don't know why RPG is surprised by the lightening strike with Chrishell Stause though, because from what I've seen in clips of him on AW, Y&R and GL he has always been a chemistry machine and has already been a part of two super couples previously: Dean and Jenna & Gus and Harley, and now here he is again striking romance gold with Jake and Amanda.
This guy is definitely a keeper!

RPG is my very favorite daytime actor....he never fails to surprise me with his acting choices that are always just a little different from the expected. Love his Jake and admire how he can create a new character who is so different from his previous one - Gus Aitoro on GL.
I am enjoying Jake with Amanda....the guys at AMC knew a good thing when they saw it with these two the first time round and made the right choice to put them back together....watching Amanda and Jake fall in love was the best thing happening this past year!
If Chrishell leaves, I will be interested to see who Jake is paired with and look forward to great story for Ricky/Jake.....

I never saw any chemistry between Jake and Amanda...I liked Amanda with JR much better.

RPG was very supportive of the Jake & Amanda storyline and as I recall he said he begged Chrishell to stay a little longer because fans liked them. Its too bad Chrishell is exiting. I wanna know who they are going to stick him with next?

Poor Ricky Paull. I doubt there's very much they can do with after Chrishell leaves. [I don't mean this as a slight to his acting, I just don't trust the writing and I don't know who they could pair him with that will work.]
