All My Children to Get New Opening Credits to Coincide With L.A. Move
By Jamey Giddens on October 21, 2009

General Hospital may still have an opening featuring people who have been off the show since Clinton was denying having "sex with that woman, Monica Lewinski", but we hear All My California Children With Special Guest Star Rebecca Budig as Greenlee Smythe Dupres Lavery will be getting a new opening once the show lands in SoCal. I'd be a bit more excited if they got a new head writer, or a new executive producer, or a new Denise Vasi, but oh well, you can't go to a swap meet looking for a diamond bracelet!

How bout new storylines or a new head writer? Or just a new fresh set of eyes in general for this disaster of a soap?

I agree, Jamey. A new Headwriter is desperately needed...thats all I want. I love AMC and it crushes me when I watch everyday, seeing how damaged its gotten by that ugly duck Pratt! I hope he is fired soon!! I am going to pray everyday =\.

I don't watch AMC but I will welcome AMC to Southern California with open arms! I am assuming the locale of the show isn't changing from Pine Valley so it will be interesting to see if location shooting takes place among the sand, palm trees, and Starbucks locations throughout Socal. If so, Pine Valley will become Palm Valley...hee hee

Rebecca Budig will be the new Rosemary Prinz, getting a special guest star billing as Rosemary did on AMC during her 6-month stint in 1970. Personally, I'm tired of seeing cast photos in the openings... since there's so much cast turnover on all these shows anyway. They should go back to just a short opening.... as for GH, I used to love how the opening scene would fade into the opening siren... I'd be all for a revamped siren/ambulance opening!

I'd be happy with the original AMC book opening.
It never needs updating!

So when will they be expanding AMC to 90 minutes (with 30 minutes spent on Ryan giving a monologue so his eyes can get really big) and cutting OLTL to a half hour with their opening credits imbedded within the show?

ITA.....get rid of FRONS & get new writers for AMC & GH.....at least OLTL has a good head writer. jmho
For all the years I loved AMC, why do I keep hearing a death knell?

I agree amc needs a new head writer! since they decided to take amc to la they also need to shake up the rest of that writing crew because how on earth can you possibly get rid of or allow yourself to get rid of the best actors kendall(Alicia) and zach(thorston) on amc how silly is that? They make AMC worthwhile mmmm Amc has been in our lives since the beginning and I think you guys need to listen to your viewers I'm not saying everyone's views are correct but trust me when I tell you AMC needs practically a new overhaul because as everyone keeps saying the writing has gotten so bad to the point you don't even want to turn it on anymore.

Well wait a minute, what do they mean by new opening credits? Like, editing people out and adding people and stuff? Or like a whole different one? If theyre just changing the opening around there really isnt much to do. Just taking people out, and maybe adding in Madison whose on contract now, the new Colby, and Greenlee. But other than that, they would just have to edit out Zach, Kendall, Aiden, Taylor, and Dr. Joe, right??

I am betting that since the show is written as bad Melrose fanfic why not complete the master plan and throw out Agnes signature bible and replace it w/a similiar Melrose opening w/JLu (PVP is loved!) doing her signature hair toss. Again like many of us on the Internet has said it does not matter at this pt. what happens on this show if Pratt and JHC are still raping this show. FIRE PRATT. And Jamey that was too funny w/the AMC: Starring Rebecca Budig. This made me laugh and Luke swoon lol.

My wish list for AMC is:
1) Get rid of Frons, Craputhers, and Pratt!!!!
2) Bring back Lorraine Broderick as head writer or make Agnes Nixon a consultant and let her choose the new e/p and h/w.
3) Get rid of characters like Randi and Marissa.
4) Bring back characters like Brooke, Dimitri, Laura, Jack, Reggie, Dani, Alec, Jamal, a Santos or two, Hayley, a Courtlandt or two, another Martin or two, Cassie, and Skye.
Do all of those things and then I will be excited.

Jamey, you forgot to add that RB would be playing "the real" Greenlee Smythe, duPres...et al. lol.
And ITA w/ everyone else here that AMC won't truly improve until Pratt, JHC and Frons go. Until then, shooting a new opening is like putting new curtains up in a house w/ termites. Sure, it may LOOK better, but eventually, the whole thing will come crashing down.

Ho hum. I'm hardly even watching AMC anymore. And it was my first love!
