Bill and Steffy? Didn't see that coming and wish it wouldn't be. LOL But hey there are no other teens on the show, so I guess it had be coming something like that. Even though Owen and Steffy completely seems forgotten!?

I'm interested where the Nick and Bridget storyline will go and of course how the brilliant Sarah Brown fits in. Don't screw it up and send her out to get little kids, Brad. Tongue

"Bill/Steffy: She kisses him (WTF?)!"

Looks like they are throwing her against the wall and hoping she will stick with someone. I wish they would just let the actress go because I don't think her character serves a purpose.

Steffy and Bill? Wasn't she all up on Owen's business just last week and what happened to her undying love for her uncle Rick?

What happened to Kyle Lowder anyway? Is he still on the show or did they already get rid of him?
Don't get Steffy's fast moving either. And this thing with Owen, whatever it was, wasn't even long, it just lasted what? Three weeks?

I hope this does not sound racist because I do not mean it this way. But would it hurt the Bold and the Beautiful to hire an African American woman to play a love interest for Justin? I mean it would be nice to have more diversity on the show. If that is too much to ask, bring a Latino or Asian family on the show. Come on Brad...be creative in your casting if that is possible. I mean I think pairing Donna with Justin would be boring and they might be front burner for a few months and then Justin will be off "handling" one of Bill Spencer's assignments in another country and you will rarely see him. So what next, Stephanie takes Eric back for the 15th time!

Reggyreg,

The idea of bringing Justin on the show is that he is a disruptor to Donna's marriage to Eric. He's her first love and Marcus' father. Justin adds conflict to the show.

I don't see the point in bringing in a new character just to be Justin's love interest this early in Justin's appearance on the show. I'd give it a 6 months to a year--especially considering how much B&B already back burners some cast members, adding another new face would really be difficult in a 30 minute show.

When did Steffy and Rick break up? Given all of the crap we had to endure of their with their relationship, when was it decided to kill their pairing? Kyle Lowder has disappeared. He's supposed to be Forrester's president but was nowhere to be seen during the recent takeover.

Is Lowder out? On recurring? On paternity leave?

Josstheguy,

When you put it that way I guess you are right. I wish B&B was an hour long. Maybe they can add more cast members if they expand the show.

Josstheguy:

Rick and Steffy broke up off-camera. We learned of this in the scenes in late August where Steffy was hanging out with Owen at his beach house when he had separated from Jackie. While talking about Owen's marital troubles, Owen made a comment about Steffy's tough relationship with Rick. She revealed that she and Rick finally admitted that their relationship would never work and they had broken up.

As for Lowder, he's still on contract, but like many B&B actors (Winsor Harmon, Lesli Kay), he's been put so far on the back burner that he's nearly non-existent. He told one of the soap mags that it's just his turn on the back-burner, and it's kind of worked out for him since the low workload gives him time to prepare for the baby's arrival.

We got to see some of Rick's reaction to Bill's attempted takeover when he packed up the beach house, but he hasn't been seen since. It's really a shame that B&B has glossed over the reactions of Thorne, Rick and Felicia to the new regime, and I don't know why they did that. I like the takeover story, but a few appearances by the lesser Forresters would be nice. At least Thorne showed up the other day and Rick was mentioned. But even though I know Felicia may not be there in the flesh because of Lesli Kay doing double duty on ATWT, you'd think someone - Ridge, Thorne, Eric - would have something to say about their sister's role in the Spencer owned Forrester.

reggiereg:

I don't see B&B going to an hour, especially not in the current economic climate in daytime. Brad Bell has admitted in the past that he was on the fence as to whether or not he'd want to go to an hour if given the chance. While he'd welcome the bigger canvas to tell stories on, cast and crew like the pacing of a half hour show and they'd have to change their production model in big ways to make it happen. So he'd have some hard choices to make if CBS ever considered it.

The thing is, right now, I don't see CBS being willing to work up the higher license fees B&B would need to pull in the resources - writers, directors, actors, etc - they'd need to do an hour. When choosing a replacement for Guiding Light, CBS went with a game show, so I'm thinking that's where they are looking as far as future directions go. Sad, but true.

Scott,

Great points! I don't see B&B expanding to an hour. Not only does it not make sense because of the economy but also because B&B does very well overseas in its current format. Why would it risk the formula that makes it so much money?

If anything, I wonder if the 30 minute format is a competitive advantage for its survival.

I wonder how much Windsor Harmon, Lesli Kay and the other severely back burnered cast members make? Harmon had that run in with the repo men who took back his Mercedes last year. I wonder if that was because of his back burnered position? In this economy, some cash is better than no cash.

Given their notoriety on the world's number one show, I wonder if some of B&B's stars have tried to pursue work overseas or in American direct to DVD movies that could be packaged and sold because of their overseas image recognition.

Scott,

I agree with you. I think that it is beneficial to keep the show to a half an hour. It is unfortunate because I think some of the back burned characters could use a good storyline.
