Ron Carlivati Tells After Elton How Stacy's Baby Will Affect Kish

One Life to Live's head writer Ron Carlivati visited with After Elton's Anthony Langford about the popular Kish pairing and revealed that Stacy and her baby are about to become a big part of their storyline.
AE: Will there be other bigger stories for them?RC: Oh yeah, absolutely. The other story that's going on with them at the same time is that from his one night stand with Stacy there's a pregnant girl out there that's carrying his baby. As their relationship moves forward, you know that complication is lying out there. Obviously I'm farther ahead with the writing, but what you're seeing now is just playing out the romance and the love story without the obstacles at the moment. Down the road, the baby story will become a big part of their relationship.

This story has lots of potential. Fish was single when he & Stacy hooked up, when Kyle was dating that other guy, but this will definitely lead to tension between them. Kyle might ask, if you're so gay, why are you sleeping with women? And, when Cris and Layla find out, Layla might ask, why did you sleep with her, when I REALLY wanted you? It's one smack in the face to learn the boyfriend you had AND ASKED REPEATEDLY if he was gay denied it and then came out, but to find out he slept with another woman might be truly devastating! As I posted earlier, if this leads to a court battle for parental rights, then I'm totally on board. It takes Stacy out of the Rex/Gigi orbit and might actually make her face her terrible decisions over the past year and a half, since all she's done is make enemies and has no real support on her behalf. There's no easy answer, since a child needs both of his/her parents. I just hope the eventual co-parenting doesn't turn into a bad episode of Will & Grace.

To me it sounds like the male version of Otalia, where a baby causes problems in the relationship. Obviously not the exact same story, but a similar plot line. At least that's what it reminded me of.

Nick's coming back! Hurray! Confession: I like Nick and Kyle way more than Oliver and Kyle.
Nick's a great character. It's also nice to see queer guy of color. Is this a first for daytime??
I wish Nick were a Vega; that would also help to secure his ties to Llanview.

I wont be happy until Nick is out of their lives for good.......Kyle and Oliver belong together and i'm glad that Ron ackowledged their growing popularity and has big plans for them.....Brett and Scott are amazing together and are the most adorable couple on TV..... this is such a beautiful love story and i cant get enough of it....
