Michael Park Visits His Theatrical Past

According to the article, It all started when Park's then-girlfriend Laurie, who is now his wife, forced him to audition for a role in a play. The Western New York native had been attending a local college as an architecture student , with the expectation he would carry on the tradition in his grandfather's construction firm. Park wasn't thrilled about going out for the role, but he got Guys & Dolls anyway. Despite his success, Park hasn't forgotten his theatrical roots.

Everyday I am reminded of something we accomplished back in '92, '91" -- his community theater days -- it was so much fun, Park, 41, recalled in a telephone interview during a day off from production on ATWT. Moving from show to show was so much fun. It was like our own corps. In a year and a half we got very close.
 

The article goes on to say, Park hit Gotham at 21 and had success as a Broadway actor before joining As the World Turns in 1997. His pairing with Maura West's Carly has been soap opera gold. 

We have a lot of fans. And I've been very blessed to have the story I have over the years. That has kept me very busy as an actor, said Park, a two-time Daytime Emmy award nominee.

Park will play celebrity chairman this weekend for the Theatre Association of New York State's (TANYS) Annual Festival at Genesee Community College in Batavia.
