During the visit he chatted with Chappell, co-star Jessica Leccia, writer-producer Kim Turrisi, Nadia Bjorlin and Gina Tognoni. Leccia shared the following.
Jessica Leccia (Chapell’s former love interest on GL) told me the character she plays in Venice, Ani, is far removed from her days in Springfield on the canceled CBS soap. READ MORE

DC Interview: Guiding Light's Gina Tognoni Dishes on Her "Exciting" Return to One Life to Live
Submitted by Daytime Confidential on October 28, 2009 - 7:48pm
From the moment it was announced that Guiding Light was going to be cancelled, all eyes were on Gina Tognoni. Everyone in the industry was wondering where the talented beauty, who had quickly made the oft recast role of carny-turned-vixen Dinah Marler her very own, would end up. Would she mercifully go to The Young and the Restless as a recast for Victoria Newman, or possibly a new character? What about that buzzed about, psycho surrogate role on Y&R's sister soap The Bold and the Beautiful (that role will be played by General Hospital spitfire Sarah Brown)? In the end, the newlywed Tognoni (she married Joseph Chiarello this past May) decided to keep doing soaps in the city, and opted to return to her breakout role as Dorian Lord's spunky niece Kelly on One Life to Live.
Daytime Confidential's Melodie Aikels and Mike Jubinville caught up with Tognoni at the recent So Long Springfield event in Pittsburgh. In between fielding the feverish adoration of droves of mourning Guiding Light fans, Tognoni was gracious enough to provide DC with an interview, sharing her thoughts about how Dinah's storyline light went out and how "excited" she is to be staying put in Gotham by way of Llanview.
Daytime Confidential: Now that Guiding Light is over, how do you feel about Dinah and Mallet ending up together in Europe?
Gina Tognoni: I thought the that was so sweet. You know, I did. I liked working with Shayne, Jeff Branson, so much but it was bittersweet at times, because I also loved working with Rob Bogue [Mallet]. So it was just kind of like, "Okay, you know, both are just fabulous!" It's just so hard to really say which pairing was my favorite and should have ended up together. READ MORE

So Long Springfield Packs the House in Pittsburgh
Submitted by Mike Jubinville on October 26, 2009 - 9:15pm
Fans came out in droves to the Hyatt Regency in Pittsburgh this weekend for the So Long Springfield event, saluting 72 years of The Guiding Light. Since the event was sold out, it was clear that it would be crowded, but I certainly wasn't prepared for the amount of people who turned out to say goodbye to something that they hold so close to their hearts. Score One For OLTL, Gina Tognoni Returns to Llanview
Submitted by Luke Kerr on September 23, 2009 - 11:21am
After months of fans waiting to find out where Gina Tognoni would end up, TV Guide Magazine is reporting that One Life to Live has landed the in-demand actress.
So what’s in store for Kelly when she hits Llanview? When she was last seen, and the role was played by Heather Tom, Kelly and Kevin went off to London. [Dan Gauthier, who plays Kevin, will return to OLTL this fall].I believe she is still connected to Kevin. We’ll see where that relationship is at when we see Kelly. I think they have some ideas about that, but it’s too soon to know. It’s all still in the works, but I trust them. I don’t need to know much more. I know the standard elements of the character—her family connections, her relationships in the town—so I get the basic deal. [Longtime staff writer turned head writer] Ron Carlivati has always been a champion of Kelly. He always understood her.

The first in a highly personal, non-objective series highlighting various aspects of the last episodes of Guiding Light, which will end its 72 year run on September 18th.
These final weeks of Guiding Light have been pure torture to watch. I don't mean "the new production model" (a phrase I never hope to hear again in my lifetime) or Bonnie Dennison's (Daisy) futile attempts to remember her lines. No, what has been extraordinarily difficult for me as a viewer — who vividly remembers when Roger (Michael Zaslow) kidnapped Holly (Maureen Garrett) in the Caribbean and Ed (then Mart Hulswit) threw him off a cliff — is watching the series' stories come to their inevitable conclusions.
