Will Greenlee Reunite With Leo...in Soap Heaven?!
Submitted by Jamey Giddens on December 29, 2008 - 10:03pm.
All My Kids has finally figured out how they are going to write off the popular character of Greenlee Smythe (Rebecca Budig). Remember when I teased you with this blind item?
The upcoming exit of a popular soap character and the actress who plays her could result in a.) the character's iconic former love returning to escort her off the canvas. b.) the character being presumed dead in a very deja vu manner or c.) the character being killed off for real.
Well, it appears they're going with option b. TV Guide Canada's Nelson Branco is reporting that AMC may have Greenlee die by falling off the very same cliff her one and only love Leo Dupres (Josh Duhamel) fell from all those years ago. Somebody has got to tell these soap divas to stay away from cliffs.
Rebecca Budig Confirms Her Exit
Submitted by Regan on October 28, 2008 - 1:31pm.
Luke has already begun the mourning process and as most fans already know, Rebecca Budig (Greenlee, All My Children) is heading out of Pine Valley. The actress confirmed the news herself in an interview with SOAPnet.com.
"It's true," Rebecca said with a little bit of sadness. "I'll be leaving 'All My Children." When asked why, Rebecca explained, "Well, my life is in California (where she relocated after leaving "AMC" in '06). I had hoped it would be a lot easier than it was to live bi-coastally. But it's really tough -- our (she and husband Bob Guiney) life is enmeshed there. We put down roots there."
For the full interview, check out SOAPnet.com. Budig is said to be leaving AMC in the early Spring of next year.

Inherit the Wind
Submitted by J Bernard Jones on October 27, 2008 - 2:53am.
I would be willing to bet that the most terrible words for daytime executives is "lapsed viewer." One might think that "cancellation" would be at the top of that list, but when a show goes off the air it is essentially a period at the end of sentence with everyone eventually moving on to something else. One also might think "lost viewers" might rank high, but the top brass is keenly aware that the television world has changed; viewers who have exited stage right have either different things to do or are far more selective with their viewing choices, two things that often go hand in hand.
As it turns out, the "lapsed viewer" is the elusive "independent" or "undecided" voters of the daytime world. Not unlike presidential hopefuls, network executives, producers and head writers stumble all over themselves to reel these people in to a new show or back into the fold of an old one. Their efforts vary from sincere to misguided to empty lip service depending on their audience or agenda. Continue Reading...
Kendall vs. Greenlee
Submitted by Luke Kerr on October 25, 2008 - 7:49pm.

Since Kendall is in a coma, while Alicia Minshew is taking a vacation and getting married, and Rebecca Budig is reported to be leaving, I thought it might be fun to see, after all these years, which of the two characters is the most popular.
Who is your favorite?

On October 11, 2008, Band from TV will be making their East Coast debut at the Mohegan Sun Resort and Casino in Uncasville, CT.
What makes this newsworthy for DC is that Luke's all time favorite daytime actress will be joining them on stage. Rebecca Budig will be joining her husband, former Bachelor Bob Guiney, onstage for the gig. They will be joining band leader Greg Grunberg (Heroes), Jesse Spencer (House) and James Denton (Desperate Housewives). Also featuring special guest Adrian Pasdar (Heroes).

Are Ryan and Greenlee soulmates?
Submitted by Danielle on September 21, 2008 - 11:33am.
I promised myself I would say nothing more about this subject, but after posting the spoilers and watching last week's episodes, I cannot keep my mouth shut anymore! So Danielle is on a rant! Look out!
Greenlee and Ryan, Part 5, WHY! WHY! This couple has been forced on this fan from day one. Greenlee 'wanted' (and I use that term loosely) Ryan only for herself because she was a horny teenager who was dumped by Scott Chandler, until she met her soulmate Leo. She tortured Gillian and any other woman who came across Ryan for kicks! Greenlee never loved Ryan the way Gillian did and she never loved anyone the way she loved Leo. The couple got together after Leo's death only because Leo and Ryan were best friends. Yeah right. Greenlee and Ryan are about has good to watch as a 24 hour marathon of Flavor of Love.
In my real life, I work for a law firm where I deal with workers' compensation and often I have client's who 'shop for whore doctors'. Meaning the client wants a doctor who will do what they want, will give them the medicine they don't need, the doctor is a pill pusher and the client becomes an addict. Greenlee is Ryan's whore doctor as far as this blogger is concerned.
Can Canary and Lucci Save All My Children?
Submitted by Luke Kerr on September 18, 2008 - 2:36pm.

A lack of direction, sinking ratings, storyline monopolization by a few select characters, fan uproar over the undoing of iconic storylines and viewer apathy plague All My Children. As Daytime Confidential's own Regan pointed out on a recent podcast "nothing should scare a show more than viewer indifference." Now Charles Pratt has the thankless job of trying to save a ship with cannonball sized holes in its bow. It isn't going to be the easiest of jobs.
Contract negotiations between ABC and Alicia Minshew haven't gone well. Rumors that Rebecca Budig is taking the out in her contract have picked up steam. Lightening hasn't struck twice between Ricky Paull Goldin and Beth Ehlers' characters, though separately both characters have potential. The "Fusion Girls" concept, once fresh with possibilities, is worn, tired and a glaring blight on the show, cannibalizing all unfortunate enough to fall in its path. The teen scene is schizophrenic at best. At least a half dozen pointless characters litter the show, while misdirected couplings abound.
So what can a new head writer do to save a sinking ship? Continue Reading...
Is Luke's Girl Going Bye-Bye, Again?
Submitted by Regan on September 12, 2008 - 10:39am.
UPDATE: This just in from TV Guide Canada's Nelson Branco. "Rebecca signed an initial four-year deal with ABC with a one-year out, which expires this winter. If she agrees to stay, she's committed to the soap for three more years, but if she's going to bolt she has to do it now. I hear she is inclined to stay in New York, but she's very unhappy with her storyline right now, and of course, her 'botched' comeback due to the 'real' Greenlee campaign."
ORIGINAL STORY: The latest Suds Report is out and Nelson Branco has a response to last week's blind item. Is an ABC darling, who's return was "botched", ready to leave now that her year deal is coming to an end? Nelson suggests that this blind item MAY refer to no other than Luke's favorite Rebecca Budig. What in the world will our main man Luke do if Greenlee high tails it out of Pine Valley?
