Liason: Against All Odds
Submitted by Jamey Giddens on December 30, 2008 - 2:21pm.Okay, I am taking off my industry insider hat and proudly displaying my fanboy flag. He doesn't get to come out very often these days, since, well, there isn't much on daytime to trigger his appearance. But when it comes to General Hospital's Jason and Elizabeth (Steve Burton and Rebecca Herbst) aka Liason, I forget for five minutes about all the behind-the-scenes drama in daytime and am actually allowed to adore a soap opera supercouple in a way I haven't been able to since Jack made love to Jennifer or Sonny left Brenda in the rain. Miss Me? Here's the Scoop! 12.30.08
The Jackal gets busted! Spinelli finds himself the subject of a federal investigation and Agent Rayner has Jason's sidekick put behind bars. Is this all just part of Rayner's plan to bring down Sonny Corinthos? Seems to be the case as SPOILERS say Jason must choose, Spinelli or Sonny. Pick Spinelli Jason! And Stone Cold just MAY be choosing to turn against his former friend to save Spin's butt. The Feds want dirt on Sonny and Jason SHOULD be willing to talk to get Spinelli released.
Meet Winnie... the Jackal's should be nemesis and Maxie's reason for getting jealous. Winnie and Spinelli have a lot in common but will he learn she's working for the feds? Will Maxie get a feeling that there is more to this female version of the Jackal? That Maxie is one smart cookie!
Will Maxie finally admit her feelings for Spinelli? That's a RUMOR out there. Is it because of the above mentioned jealousy or the real deal? Maxie and Spinelli kiss!
Robin's Post Partum Depression storyline has not been dropped. It SHOULD be picked back up when the newlyweds return to work. Patrick will be worried about his wife as the newly married docs must learn to balance work and family. Remember that new house they were supposed to be getting? Well it MAY be happening in the new year. Look for Robin to have problems, one where she'll leave Emma with Elizabeth and when patients start kicking the bucket, Patrick is surely going to have his hands full. Continue Reading...

It's a typical Friday.... not a lot of SCOOP. Q& A DAY! Ask Away....
Liason's run ends today. Jason will tell Elizabeth about the money he's left in an account for her and the boys. I am not sure if he will tell her about the house or if she will know it was made to look like Emily left it all for her.
Punching out his frustrations? RUMORS say Jason works it out on a punching bag.
Lucky and Sam... Sam still wants to investigate the Russian mob. Lucky is against that. When Sam is rescued from the pit, its Lucky she wakes up to at the hospital. Will she be saying the right name as she awakes?
Are Skate headed down the same Liason Lane? Were they broken up to facilitate the Carly Claudia and Sonny pairing? RUMORS say that MAY be the case. Is this another Frons mandated pairing in hopes to boost ratings? Why else would pairing Sonny with the woman responsible for Michael being in a coma be a good idea? I will give them this, it does have some good story potential but that is only if they actually move towards revealing Claudia's role in the shooting. There are RUMORS that we'll see more of Sonny and Claudia getting closer. There are still RUMBLINGS that Ric and Claudia hit the sheets again. Continue Reading...
Burton and Herbst Speak Out on Liason's End
Submitted by Regan on December 11, 2008 - 9:41am.
Steve Burton and Rebecca Herbst (Jason Morgan & Elizabeth Webber) spoke with Soap Opera Digest on the end of their popular pairing, Liason. Both actors are sad to see their coupling end.
We had quite the following for a couple who never were together, allows Steve Burton. "I don't write the show. If it was up to me, I would have played it out to see where it went. I would have given it a shot, but that's how the freaking ball bounces. There's nothing I can do about it. We did the best we could with what we were given. We definitely tried to find and play all the moments. I'm bummed out."
According to Herbst, the ending of Jason and Elizabeth came as a surprise to her.
I didn't know that this was happening, " she declares, "I knew of course, there was going to be, once again, some rocky roads for Jason and Liz considering what has happened, but I didn't know they were splitting us up."
Burton and Herbst gave props to their fans who were loyal despite the lack of movement in their couple's story.

Totally forgot to talk about Tracy and Luke yesterday. While I would be all for a Tracy/Luke/Laura triangle I am not so sure I am liking the latest storyline for Jane and Tony. I always love their banter but this is Luke Spencer, I feel like he should be doing more than chasing his wife to the Dominican to stop a speedy divorce. Although this has given me the opportunity to once again call out the GH writers. Remember when you sent Carly to the Domincan to get a speedy divorce from Sonny? We learned then that the Domincan is no longer your source for a quick end to your marriage. Now, I MAY be a little premature as the LATEST SPOILERS say that while Tracy tells Luke she's already been granted the divorce, it's a bluff and Luke SHOULD be getting the opportunity to call her on it. Take Heart Liason Fans, Eventually All Roads Lead Back to Liz!!!
Submitted by Jamey Giddens on December 6, 2008 - 1:13pm.Steve Burton: "Real Love Doesn't Just Evaporate and Disappear."
Submitted by Jamey Giddens on December 5, 2008 - 5:37pm.
In this week's Soap Opera Digest cover story concerning the break up of the closest thing General Hospital has had to a supercouple in years, Liason, Jason Morgan himself Steve Burton talks about his character ending things with Liz (Rebecca Herbst) and how long until JaSam fans can rejoice, while Liason fans ready our barf bags due to the Brian Frons-mandated reunion of Jason and Sam (Kelly Monaco). Here's what Burton had to say:
You knew it would come to this, but this is a guy who just lost the closest thing to his family, so right now, rekindling anything or starting something new with anyone is a ridiculous question because there's got to ge a mourning period. What kind of moron would he look like if he asked out Sam a week later [laughs]? Just like real life, real love doesn't just evaoprate and disappear."
In other word, our boy is still fighting the good fight for Liason!
Should Jason and Liz Forgive Sam on General Hospital?
Submitted by Jamey Giddens on December 5, 2008 - 11:26am.

This post is really a moot point, considering Brian Frons has alleged spoken and a JaSam reunion is inevitable, but pretending just for a second that we live in a bizarro world where The Powers That Be at General Hospital actually cared about what their fans, think like the people behind The Young and the Restless, who are proving it every day, I have to ask the question, with Sam (Kelly Monaco) set to rescue Baby Jake Spencermaine, should Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) ever forgive her for what she did to them and their son before?
Sam stood by and watched a mentally unstable woman kidnap Jake, the child of a man she claimed to love. She later hired armed thugs to terrorize Elizabeth and her sons in the park, endangering the lives of not only the woman she loathed, but two innocent children. Now, however, with Sam once again about to save the day in Port Charles, it is clearly obvious TPTB are hoping this will allow for an easy redemption for the character.
Those who support Sam would argue she was driven to her desperate actions by Liz's consistent presence in Jason's lfe. They firmly believe Liz sat out to come between Jason and Sam, that every forgotten scarf was a calculated move to drive a wedge between their favorite couple. They would go on to say learning that Jason fathered a child with another woman was too much for Sam to bear. She had lost Lila, the baby daughter she planned to raise with Jason, and later forfeited the ability to conceive another child when she was shot in the uterus due to Jason's mob activities. Many Sam fans believe this is why she succumbed to some form of temporary, rage-induced insanity.
Sam lovers would also point out calculated, plot-driven moves they feel were implemented to discredit their heroine. They believe, TPTB wrote Sam into a corner on purpose to prop up Liason, much like Liason fans feel the GH show runners purposefully prevent LIason from every having a true shot at a front burner love story. So the question is, speaking strictly storyline, should Jason and/or Liz forgive Sam for the past, because of what she does for their son in the present?
The Russians Have Jake On General Hospital!! Where The Hell Was Sarah Palin???
Submitted by Jamey Giddens on December 4, 2008 - 3:52pm.

Now see there, those doggone Russian mobsters have gone and snatched up poor, innocent, little Jake Spencermaine from his sweet, noble, virtuous mama Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) on General Hospital and Sarah Palin, former Vice-Presidential nominee/Chief Russian Watcher was nowhere to be found! I thought she said she had an eye on them from her backyard??? Must have been too busy out killing turkeys, as opposed to peacocks, which is what Jeff Zucker and Ken Corday are doing over at NBC.
Never fear little Jakey Pie, Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) is on the case and with Brian Frons pimping and promoting this character ad nauseum, you can be sure she will not only save Jake, but cure Robin (Kimberly McCullough)'s HIV and hold a Wiccan ceremony that will resurrect Alan Quartermaine (Stuart Damon) from the dead, wait, scratch that last part, he is a Quartermaine after all. Keep the faith Liasonites!
Everyone Needs Cupid, Why Not ABC Daytime?
Submitted by Luke Kerr on November 19, 2008 - 6:34pm.Now here's a cross promotional opportunity. ABC is about to launch a new show called Cupid. Assuming it premieres in January or February, why couldn't General Hospital record a special Valentines fantasy episode where Cupid drops by Port Charles to bring love lorn Jason (Steve Burton) and Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) together? I'm sure that being able to pull in some of the daytime audience could help boost a new show's ratings. The networks have proven they can help sell CD's by having musicians appear on soaps, why couldn't daytime help launch primetime shows? Oh, and if it wouldn't work out on General Hospital, how about One Life to Live or All My Children?
Check out the trailer above and tell me what you think? Would you enjoy a crossover?
