John Callahan Brings Dastardly Dr. Baker Back to DAYS for Lengthier Stint

Ruh roh. Looks like more trouble for Nicole Walker Roberts Kiriakis DiMera (Arianne Zucker) once she gets out of the clink. Sources say John Callahan is back on set at Days of Our Lives this week reprising the role of Dr. Baker, the sinister physician who helped Nikki switch Sami (Alison Sweeney) and Mia's (Taylor Sprietler) babies. Look for this stint to be a bit lengthier, according to one mole.

DC Exclusive: DAYS' Eric Martsolf on Carrying Drake Hogestyn's Torch and Comedy Being "Life on Steroids"

"Comedy is basically life on steroids" thus says Days of Our Lives hunk Eric Martsolf. The actor, who is as good-natured as he is good looking, will get a chance to prove his theory this weekend, when he hosts ACME Saturday Night, L.A's hottest sketch comedy show, at the ACME Comedy Theatre in Hollywood.
I caught up with Martsolf to discuss his hosting gig. We also chatted about what it was like having to play "the wall" on Passions, while so many of his costars got to tickle viewers funny bones on the supernatural sudser. Then we talked about how skeptical critics (like me) were when news first broke that he and fellow Passions alum Galen Gering were joining DAYS. Does he feel vindicated now that the sudser is experiencing a creative and ratings renaissance?
We also discuss the legacy of his former boss, the late James E. Reilly; how he is "carrying the torch" for Drake Hogestyn; Brady's "addiction" to Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) and how Martsolf's amazing life adventures, including marriage to wife Lisa, with whom he shares twin sons, Mason and Chase, has brought so much comedy to his soap jumping life.
Daytime Confidential: You're hosting ACME Saturday Night this week. How did the gig come about?Eric Martsolf: Well, actually it was a through a friend of a friend through a friend. [Laughs]. No, coincidentally, Arianne Zucker had done it. I knew another one of the girls involved, I had done this crazy, little Christmas show called "Jingle Bell Rock", and she told them, "Hey, I know this guy who would be willing to make a fool out of himself for an hour or so on stage." Sami hates keeping secrets from Rafe, but is driven by finding her daughter and agrees. Meanwhile, EJ heads to the penthouse with a video of Sydney which shows the tot alive and well. This has Sami over the moon and she and EJ share a close moment. Their close moment ends when EJ tells Sami he believes the ransom note is bogus, causing Sami to lose it.

By Jillian Bowe on February 21, 2010Bo/Hope: Fancy Face questions Victor about Vivian's plot to kill Melanie, but her father-in-law feigns innocence. Victor tells Hope to focus on Carly since she's the real person who's a threat. Victor offer to have Carly removed from Bo's life, but Hope declines and heads for the hospital. She comes up on Bo and Phillip bickering about Carly. Hope tells Phillip there's no use to argue with Bo about Carly and asks her husband if he's in love with his ex-fiance. Bo doesn't want to get into his feelings for Carly right then, but Hope keeps pressing the issue until he admits he does love Carly. A devastated Hope sucks it up and even offers to help Carly with Vivian. Hope tells Bo know what went on in the basement and about Victor's part Carly's schemes. READ MORE

Vivian lures her to the roof by saying she wants to talk to her about her mother. Carly's hot on Vivian's trail and heads to the roof also where she spots her on the verge of clubbing Melaine over the thunder dome with a iron rod. Hellbent on protecting her daughter, Carly shoots at Vivian, but Melanie decides to play hero and jumps in front of Vivian and takes a bullet to the chest! A horrified Carly goes into doctor mode and tries to save Melanie, who's rushed to the hospital. READ MORE
