Why does this look like the skanky version of, Jesus Christ Superstar?

See that horrified look on Katie Logan's face? That pretty much sums up my expression as I'm sitting here trying to catch up on last week's The Bold and the Beautiful.

Haven't they put poor Katie Logan through enough already? They nearly kill her, give her a heart transplant, nearly kill her again and then have the impressively naive Bridgette get her deputized so that she can become deputy do-gooder and marry off the man she's in love with? Darn it already! Poor Katie Logan just can't get a break. If a virus doesn't kill Katie she'll end up dying from a heart attack inflicted by emotional trauma. That or she'll end up falling in love with Eric like each of her other sisters. Honestly, I'm not sure which would be worse.

Just when I thought I’ve seen it all Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) goes and pulls another stunt on EJ (James Scott) and Sami (Alison Sweeney). Yesterday I fell out of my chair when I saw Lucas giving Sami an ultimatum of either her or EJ to move out of the Dimera mansion.

Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t that house EJ’s family home?! John )Drake Hogestyn) is still Sami’s stepfather even though Marlena (Deidre Hall) moved out. You’d think that Lucas would say, “It’s either him or me Sami,” not having her moves out where else is she going to move to since the last time I checked Sami doesn’t work. I know Lucas is on house arrest but he can also move elsewhere like he’s also been itching to do. He could move into Alice’s place and we can get a sighting of the old gal and have someone in the family homestead. Hell he can even move in with his mom and take care of her when she gets out of the hospital she will need the help. How many times while watching Guiding Light have you wondered what if? What if Harley found out Cyrus slept with Cassie? Would she cut him loose or cut loose on Cassie? I ask myself questions like this everyday about Guiding Light's storylines. Many stories start out with great potential but end up being ruined by missed opportunities. The show is littered with them. I feel like it's about time some of these missed opportunities come into the light.

Missing Characters: Where in the Guiding Light is Mel, Rick, Beth, Alexandra, the children, and a number of other characters? I know all aforementioned people are on recurring status, but that doesn't mean they have to disappear off the face of the show. These characters are hardly even talked about. It's such a shame. I think the missing character that has the most storyline potential is Alex. She really needs to be included in the Spaulding takeover story. I just know that if Alex was around she'd be giving Dinah pure hell for living in the Spaulding Mansion. I can just imagine what would happen if Alex saw Dinah wearing her mothers jewelry. It would be on and cracking. Also, why isn't Alex apart of this grand scheme to get the mansion back? Not utilizing one of Springfield's top villains is leaving a big void in the Spaulding takeover story. Continue Reading...

Mashed potatoes, gravy, and cranberry sauce! Soap Opera Digest is reporting that Little Richard will appear on The Young and the Restless. The Rock and Roll Legend is set to perform at an upcoming wedding. However, it's not the wedding you’re thinking of. Jeffrey and Gloria elope on June 30th, and Little Richard performs at the ceremony. In the words of the legend himself: "Shut Up!"

Soap Opera Central is reporting that there have been changes to Guiding Light's writing team. Guiding Light Executive Producer Ellen Wheeler has confirmed that David Kreizman is no longer the single head writer of the show. Jill Lorie Hurst, Christopher Dunn, and Lloyd "Lucky" Gold have all been given the status of "head writer". Along with David Kreizman, the new head writers will form two teams that will work with one another to try and improve this once great show. 

After months of complaining, something is finally happening at Guiding Light...or has it? Don't all of these people already write for the show? Therefore, the way I see it is, we're not getting any new writers, just old ones with more power. However, at least Guiding Light is acknowledging that there is a serious problem with the writing. It's a start.

I can't believe it! After almost 25 years of faithful service to the Newmans, Miguel Rodriguez is gone! On today's show we learned that Miguel has left the Newman Ranch for good to care for his sick aunt. The thing that ticked me off about this was not getting to see Miguel one last time. I feel like long time fans of this show, like me, were jipped in seeing a proper goodbye to one of the show's most popular minor characters.

One thing I have always enjoyed about The Young and the Restless are the minor characters. They have always been quirky and just nice to have around. Miguel was one of my favorite minor characters. He was always kind of like Victor Newman's right hand man. Over the years he became part of the Newman family rather than just the butler. He even had a major storyline with Veronica Landers in the late 90's. For a character that has so much history on this show, his exit was disappointing to say the least.

Talk about a double whammy, Kent Masters King (Lainey) has been bumped to recurring on General Hospital and according to reports by Soap Opera Weekly wasn’t asked back on the mothership’s show Night Shift 2 when they set up shop again this year with returning actors Kimberly McCullough (Robin), Jason Thompson (Patrick) and, my girl Sonya Eddy (Epiphany) toting a brand new ensemble cast.  So for those of you that were interested in the storyline with Cody and Lainey, kiss that bad boy goodbye for now.
