Here on Venice Beach: Season One Review of Crystal Chappell's Passion Project
By Jamey Giddens on March 08, 2010
I just finished watching the season finale of Venice, the groundbreaking, web soap opera from Guiding Light and Days of Our Lives' superstar Crystal Chappell, talented writer Kim Turrisi and sharp director Hope Royaltey, and all I can say is I hope a fly doesn't get a chance to head down my throat before I can pick my jaw up from the floor! If you are one of those people who opted not to subscribe to the web series, let me just say the season one cliffhanger featuring GL alum Jordan Clarke as Col. John Brogno— the homophobic father of Chappell's principle character Gina— alone was well worth the 10 bucks I paid, if only to make sure I know the backstory for what is sure to be a much stronger second season. But for now, let's talk about the season that was.

DC Interview: Gina Tognoni Previews "Something Going On" With Kelly and Todd on OLTL
By Jillian Bowe on February 24, 2010
Move over Blair (Kassie DePaiva). Step off Tea (Florencia Delgado). Kelly Cramer is back and it looks like she's going to be mixing it up with Llanview's dirtiest bad boy, Todd Manning (Trevor St. John)! Daytime Confidential caught up with the real Kelly Cramer, aka Gina Tognoni, who recently reprised her star-making role on One Life to Live, following a lengthy stint as Guiding Light's Dinah Marler.
In between munching on the tasty grub at OLTL's recent Moving Down the Block Party, Tognoni offered DC a sneak peek at Kelly and Todd's upcoming interaction. Could it turn romantic? If not, which other red hot Llanview lust inspirers would Tognoni like to mix it up with? (Dorian) Lord knows there are so many to choice from! And what about her ex-husband Kevin (Dan Gauthier), who's also coming back to town? Will the eldest Buchanan offspring be sticking around to work things out with the woman who bore his son a child? Tognoni also shares her excitement over doing a second season of Crystal Chappell's hit web soap Venice.
Daytime Confidential: What brings Kelly back to Llanview this time around?
Gina Tognoni: Family brings her back to town. I don't want to give it away, but there's a little drama that goes down back in Llanview and there's a bomb that goes off, not literally, a bomb is dropped in her family and days turn into weeks and then she decides to stay in Llanview. READ MORE

DC Interview: Jillian Explains the Origins of Bitchy Bangs to OLTL's Cramer Women
By Jillian Bowe on January 07, 2010
Get ready One Life to Live fans. The Cramer women are back this February and it’s going to be hot! ABC invited the soap press out to the OLTL studio in New York for a special event reintroducing the Cramers. On hand were: Robin Strasser (Dorian), Kassie DePaiva (Blair), Gina Tognoni (Kelly), Kristen Alderson (Starr), Laura Bonarrigo (Cassie), Brittany Underwood (Langston), and last, but certainly not least Melissa “Bitchy Bangs” Fumero (Adriana). Hilarity ensued when yours truly had to set everyone straight on the origins of Bitchy Bangs.
Daytime Confidential: Melissa, your character, Adriana went from a doormat to a love-to-hate bitch, coinciding with a new haircut for you. What did you make of the Bitchy Bangs phenomenon?
Laura Bonarrigo: I have to interject; I don't understand how any character in daytime can be called "Bitchy Bangs!" Can you explain this to me? Was this after me?
Melissa Fumero: It was so hilarious how everything happened at the same time. Basically, my contract was up and I had a little break before I came back as recurring to finish my storyline. I was there until June or whatever. So on the break, I got this feeling and all of a sudden, "I'm not under contract! I'm going to cut my hair. I'm going to cut bangs! I'm not going to ask permission!" So I did! [Laughs] READ MORE

By Jamey Giddens on December 16, 2009
The online soap opera may have aired only one episode, but Crystal Chappell's Venice has already made enough money to fund a full second season of the serial! Chappell tells Soap Opera Digest purchases fans made from Venice's online store funded the sapphic sudser's premiere season, and that enough money was made just from the initial airing of Venice to produce a second season. Someone hire Chappell to run a daytime division already!
According to the article, the official Venice website has had over 24 million hits since September, and saw 225,000 unique visitors in just the first week of December, which would explain those crashes. Never fear; La Chappell has hired a Colorado firm to add four new servers for all her rampant fans, the actress/producer tells Digest.
